Visited Black Toro after a few recommendations from a few people.
The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly.
We ordered the fries, soft shell crab tacos, wagyu sliders, chicken ribs and the pork hock for the main!
Everything was pretty delicious! The pork hock was a little bit dry which was a little disappointing since having heard good things about it! We wouldve liked a bit more sauce with the pork hock.
However would like to return a try few of the other dishes that were on the menu!

As someone who lived in California where Mexican food is very popular, Im finding that this place certainly doesnt taste Mexican at all, but obviously a lot better than most other Mexican restaurants in Melbourne. The food still tasted good and I think this is a good option around Glen Waverley.

A friend recommended this restaurant for their tapas, so I took my girlfriend and her parents there for them to try something new. The venue was nice and we got a table near the window. Service staff were friendly. We got the ‘Feed Me’ with dessert tasting plate for $68 pp to try a bit of everything.
BBQ corn was the best I have had, the smoky flavour was fully infused in the corn, mixed with the cheese and mayo = YUM! the cheese croquettes did not disappoint either, definitely up there with the corn. This was followed by soft crab taco and pulled pork taco, both were very average. Soft shell crab barely had any crab meat/taste, the pulled pork was very dry.
For the main, we were served lamb barbacoa, which came with a very generous portion size. Taste was OK, and the meat was a combination of yummy fatty bits and dry meat. It also came with coleslaw to cleanse the palate of oiliness. Not bad but missing the WOW factor as some of the other reviews mentioned.
You will be full at this point. But dessert was coming, and as someone who’s not religiously into desserts, I was very pleasantly surprised by their dessert tasting plate. The chocolate marquis and the tres leches cake deserve special mentions, they were not overly sweet and the hazelnut fudge was just heavenly.
Overall great place for tapas, but choose your dishes carefully to maximize the experience. For what it’s worth, the ‘Feed Me’ tasting plate is worth the money, but can get too pricey if you order each dish individually.

Reasonable food and portion sizes. Some of the menu items were not the best and the tacos were a little dry. Staff seemed a little disoriented and did not know the menu well

I think a lot has been said about the quality of the food provided by this restaurant.
I will only mention the problems with this restaurant. First of all, the price. This place sort of serves small portions tapas so you need to order a lot to be full, but the problem is when you order a lot, you end up paying something close to fine dining price.
The time allowed to dine. They have two sessions for dinner, to maximise earnings. So if you book the first session, you will feel very rushed. The staff will constantly remind you to eat faster and get out of here asap. It’s so rushed that you can’t even have dessert. The bill will be put in front of you without you asking for it. So what do diners do? They all head to pancake parlour after they are kicked out. So I wonder why don’t I just sit myself at pancake parlour to begin with? At least I can take my time to eat and chat.

Coming over to sample their feed me tasting plate.
    We pay $52pp
With that money, I am expecting something different from the other places.
Jalapeo and cheese croquette started of pretty nicely.
BBQ corn seems to be everyones fav.
Soft crab taco was just so so. I didnt feel the wow factor.
Fried Chicken w aioli(Mayo) – I would love a bit more flavor in this
Pulled pork taco was ok. The pork was flavorful but not overpowering
    Main: bbq chicken w rice.
I dont like to say bad things but this dish ruins all impression.
Its chicken on bbq. W lemon.
The chicken is undercooked as per pic and is raw on some parts. No seasoning on the chicken. Its disappointing.
Overall I dont feel the wow factor at all.

Great Spanish tapas spot on the busy strip. Food and service was great and ordered the feedme menu. Beautiful dishes and caters for all dietary requirements . Parking in the area is a nightmare so arrive in good time as it took us 15 minutes of driving around before we found a parking on a Friday night
