Note: review is for the cafe and NOT the deli. I really wanted to like this place. Having lived in the area for my whole life, I walked past their amazing display of ready-to-go food every other day. I finally decided to grab something one morning and got two coffees and a toasted sandwich for my boyfriend. The toasted sandwich was soggy and bland. The coffee on the other hand was quite alright. Months later, I stopped by again and got a spanakopita and a baguette to go. My partner said the baguette was good but I found the spanakopita totally inedible and had to put it in the bin (and I hate to waste food!). Hopefully the cafe improves as the deli half of the business looks incredible!
So i recently just moved into the area and work past feast the cakes and pastrys look great ! But unfortunately thats all that does it for me . The first time i went in i got a milkshake and the girl behind the count was so rude it was 4.30 and they didnt want to make it but online it said they close by 5 i have never had such a bad experience then i recently went in again to give it another guy a young guy and the owner i have been told were behind the counter the young guy was really polite and so helpful i ordered a bacon and egg muffin $4.99 which was fine but wjen the young guy went to charge me the owner came striaght up and said no charge for 5 i felt really uncomfortable and it was honestly the worst bacon and egg muffin i have ever tasted.
Its a shame because its not that hard to be polite espically to customers!! Before i went in there i had geard really bad feedback from other people in the community but i dont go off what others say i like to try things for myself. But i completly understand why alot of the comunity think like this. It doesnt cost once sence to be polite. I have heard they had the business for a long time and its a wonder how there still operating. I honestly have never been treated so rudly and been do disrespected in a cafe before i will never go back and tell other i speak to do the same .
Coffee was bitter, the spinach and ricotta roll was really nice and my husband’s ham salad baguette was a bit soggy.
Really friendly service and the main shop’s cheese selection was amazing.
The worst coffee I’ve ever had! I personally never leave bad reviews but when I took the coffee back because my soy milk was burnt and visably curdled, the dark haired middle aged man was utterly rude and defensive, he reluctantly with attitude offered me another coffee but with the man’s attitude I wouldn’t accept and simply walked out. We will never return there. Go over the road to SIPP opposite train line, service and food heaps better ten fold!
I’ve never actually eaten in or bought any of the pastries, but I’ve been buying from the deli for many years and the meats, cheeses and marinated vegetables are great. The owner has always been friendly to us. Nice range of continental products on hand too. Thank God there’s still small delis around because if my only choice was one of the big supermarkets, I’d give up cold meat forever, even something as simple as ham. It’s important to keep places like this around or it’s straight to the pre-sliced meats for us all.

The lemon had totally dried up
The meringue was like a rock
The pastry was detached from the lemon it was so old
Must have been in the window display for a week
Going by previous reviewer experience when they complained regarding the same thing I will not bother – will never return !
The deli is fantastic, full of wonderful imported stuff. The cheeses are terrific. What a gem.
Staff are great and got me in a special order within a week.
