As a deli this is a great place. A fantastic cheese room to explore. A vast supply of quality meats, dips etc and baked on premises baguettes. As a cafe… coffee quality is just average which is disappointing compared to other cafes in area. We found service slow so cant recommend that area of business. New wine bar just opened which needs investigating… stay tuned.
I stopped in here today with my grandmother for a coffee and a snack. I ordered a soy latte and she ordered the cappuccino and we had a couple of croissants with jam.
It took quite a while to be served and it seemed like maybe they were training new staff because a lot of questions were being asked from the counter.
The coffee was nice, with a slightly nutty flavour and the croissant was served fresh and with chunky strawberry jam. I was surprised the croissants werent toasted but we didnt ask we just assumed they would be. They were fresh and flakey.
The cafe also had an abundance of pastries and pies available.
We sat near to the walkway to the deli section and noticed a fishy smell from that direction which wasnt pleasant… we should have moved but all the other tables were taken and we didnt want to have to sit outside.

Went in with partner to share a pie and asked the counter staff to heat it up. Pie came out a few minutes later, soggy from the microwave (which also meant the inside was tongue-burning hot!!!). Had a bite and decided that it really wasnt anything fantastic to have another pastry to share. Staff saw us sharing and did not offer us extra cutlery, even though it was obvious we were both eating.
The last straw was when we were trying to pay, another customer cut our queue and my partner politely told him he was in line to pay, but the person behind the counter decided to serve that man first. I initially wanted to let them know they should toast the pies in the oven to keep the pastry crisp however the horrendous staff service made me feel my words would be just cast aside.
Very unlikely to go back. The deli is a much nicer experience. Wouldnt recommend the cafe to anyone! SIPP and Sebastians are much better, both food and service standards!
