10 Reviews on “Hampton Blue Sea Fish and Chips”
I read Frank’s review from a couple of days back. My fave in the area is That 70’s fish & chip shop so ventured across Buff Road to try this place.
Potato cakes are meh.. I big soft, not soggy just didn’t have the crispness..
The burger was good though. Good meat patty with a good sour dough bun that stayed together. Really tasty and filling. A better than good honest burger from a fish n chips place..
After being shortchanged by so many local fish and chip places, I finally found a place that makes real decent burgers.
I’d heard good things about the massive burgers this place made. They are the best burgers I’ve had in years! The burgers are heavy, fresh, use quality burger buns, thick tomato slices and real crispy lettuce. The bacon and egg are delish. And you get a real whopper of a meat patty.
I noticed the old poor reviews below when checking this site for the shop’s phone number. So had to write this update cause it’s now May 2016. Best to book by phone as it’s busy, even today (Tues) at lunch. I recommend the lunch special which includes burger chips and a drink can.
Best chippy in Hampton. I have been going to this fish and chip shop every week for over 2 years and the food has never failed to disappoint. So fresh and tasty. The staff and owners are lovely and always greet us with a big smile. They have started selling gingerbread and brownies as well and they are DIVINE!
Disappointed. We have been going here about twice a month for the past 2 years. The last 2 orders we’ve had have been awful. Soggy fish, soggy tasteless souvlaki and cold chips. I haven’t been the one to pick them up so can’t comment on management change – but there has definitely been a massive decline in quality. Such a shame.
I’m Hooked…. Great, no bs fish and chips cooked bang on! Their flake is so fresh, with batter nice and crispy. Great selection of other fish so ask for the specials – rockling, flat head and sea perch to name a few. Their burgers are amazing and their souvlakis the best this side of town! Be sure to call in on a Friday or weekend or be prepared to wait…
Worst fish & chips ever. If you like raw chips, soggy, floppy crab sticks and rubber calamari, then this is the place for you. The rude, don’t care less attitude of the man that answered the phone should have been the first red flag.
It was inedible and a disgrace they think it is acceptable food to serve up.
The hamburger was ok but it needs more than that to save it.
Needless to say, this takeaway menu is now in the bin and we will never return.
Great burgers and souvos! Try the Mykonos souvlaki, awesome!
