Underwhelming. The food is okay and the service is pretty average. Overall, its an average restaurant. Its very expensive for what youre getting. The meat is very oily and the Greek salad is about 90% lettuce. Id say that if you want good Greek, youre better off going to Oakleigh where the food is better for half the price.
Great service, the dips were beautiful, could tell they were home made. Had the mix grill for 2 people, plenty of food i think it was enough for 3! The baklava was my favourite and my kids enjoyed the semolina desert. definitely will be back
Been there many times before but this was the last time. Friendly waitress but the food was below normal quality expectations. Seafood platter was not hot and the mussels served didnt show any mussels. Old favourite but time to look for a different GREEK favourite. Sad.
I have no idea how the other people who wrote good reviews did so for this place. We got no service when we arrived with 2 young kids. Sat 20 mins before we managed to track someone down to ask for water yet they weren’t busy. We ordered a meat platter and I can cook better lamb with my eyes closed. Every type of meat on the plate was so dried out that I’m sure it had been cooked the day before and reheated in an oven. This was odd as it took 40 minutes for our meals to arrive (I’ve no idea what they were doing to take so long to bring out reheated food), so my kids were starving by then. When you cut open a rissole, it had a crusty dry outer shell, but almost hollow in the middle it had dried out so much. The lamb shoulder had been shredded and was like hair it was so dry. There was TWO small slices of tomato in the salad. We asked for more and they were obliging but I would never go back here, even if someone else was paying. This was a very unimpressive meal. Pathetic really. I’m a 45 year old mum and can cook better as a basic meal at home myself (and do every night of the week) but we paid nearly $150 for a meal we really should have sent back. Plus it was expensive for the quality. Maybe they were having a bad night but they lost me. It was basic food that Greeks should be good at.
Nicely set out restaurant with large doors opening onto the street. The dips were good – hummus, tzatziki, capsicum & caviar all accompanied by delicious warm pita bread. The dolmades were tasty too. For main I had lamb souvlaki, salad & chips which was ok but nothing marvellous. The prawns were tasty and various vegetable dishes quite nice. The gelati – lemon, chocolate and strawberry was a good way to finish. Service quick and friendly but no water provided at the table. Overall the meal was way overpriced for the quality.
Food quality has seriously deteriorated. We have been to this restaurant about ten times in the last 15 years, but last night was the first time in over five years. It was our local go-to Greek. WAS! The service as always was pleasurable and enthusiastic. The dips were just ok, my family compared them to Cole’s variety. The prawns saganaki were highly overpowered by the fetta. Fetta? On prawns? Yep. The bowl of chips accompanying the meat platter, was miniscule compared to the platter, which consisted of two overcooked tasteless lamb cutlets, two overcooked lamb patties, one chicken skewer, and what sermed like a whole slowcooked lamb shoulder, shredded and boned. Completely devoid of any moisture. The Greek salad, was sadly lacking in dressing and fetta and olives. Sadly, we won’t be back.
Oh, and the prices are out of control! $35 for a prawn saganaki entree…with six prawns??? $9 for one beer? Overall $170 for three people. We didn’t even order deserts or coffee.
We had a great meal here, their online booking system was well polished, service was friendly, and food was delicious. The only thing which bothered me was the chairs weren’t very comfortable and they kept clearing our plates before we were done. We did a banquet which was well priced
