Our friends suggested dinner at Pelagos in Hampton. Our waitress made us feel welcome immediately. A friendly atmosphere is always a good starter. There were five of us and we opted for the meat banquet (other options include meat & seafood banquet, or a-la-carte). Shortly after the starters came (usual bread, dips, dolmades). All delicious and plentiful. The meat course arrived after a suitable time and we dug in. Tender, tasty and again plentiful, we ate our fill – accompanied by Greek potatoes and salad. The included dessert was Turkish delight, baklava and an orange semolina type cake I dont know the name of.
Its not a large restaurant and for a Saturday night it wasnt particularly busy, about half full at its peak. This was surprising given the good food and welcoming atmosphere. But, it was AFL grand final day and I suppose people had other plans.
Would I return? Yes. Enjoy!
