One of the yummiest porridge meals I’ve have in a while .. Banana, peanut butter berry porridge . Staff were friendly and accommodating let me sit at table even though I was alone. Coffee wasn’t to my taste today . But I’ll go back
Now in its third month of operation, this Hampton Street resident is proving its worth in the Bayside suburb of Hampton. It’s the brainchild of Klahed El Haouli, who cut his teeth in hospitality while at Neighbours Café in St Kilda. Seating just over 70, Town House offers a relaxed space, largely decked out in blonde wood furniture and indoor plants, with pops of pastel. Brightly lit with an inviting palette of white, pink, and blue, visitors are welcome to sip a coffee whilst taking in the atmosphere; and soaking up the sun in the courtyard. The menu is a nod to Middle Eastern cuisine, with the venue’s most popular dish to date being the indulgent Knafeh French Toast. Chefs Ronnie and Perry infuse each dish with an array of flavours, as seen in the Calamari Salad with bush spices and chargrilled grapes; Salmon & Rosti with Ora King Salmon on a sweet potato rosti; and local favourite Green and Grains Breakfast served on an open face Socca, with smashed pumpkin, crispy chickpeas, and superseeds. Coffee is sourced from Code Black, and the doors open daily from 6:30am til 3:30pm. Pro tip: Try the Cold Brew.
Run by the previous owner of Neighbours cafe St Kilda this little cafe is a bright pink ray of sunshine on Hampton street. The coffee to start was spot on- and then daring to try the Greek styled waffles I was so pleasantly surprised and delighted. Just the right amount of sweetness and serving size. Will definitely visit again and highly recommend to at least show this place a little love.
Town House is a newly opened cafe located in Hampton. Visiting on a weekend for breakfast we opted to sit inside the light filled cafe. The all day breakfast menu offers both classic dishes with a twist and some more exiting dishes for those wanting something a bit different or a bit ‘extra’.For food we ordered the lamb and cauliflower hash and the knafeh French Toast. Both dishes came out beautifully presented and were quite filling. To drink we ordered a matcha latte and a coffee. The lamb and cauliflower hash reminded me of a Sunday roast on a plate. Featuring slow roasted lamb shoulder, roasted cauliflower, crispy kipfler potato hash, charred corn, peas, pistachio, kale, pomegranate, dukkah, tahini yoghurt and a fried egg on toasted sourdough it had a bit of everything. If it weren’t the for the egg and toast it would be hard to believe I was eating breakfast. The lamb was beautifully cooked and worked perfectly with all the veggies. I loved the touch of pomegranate to the dish.My friend ordered the knafeh French Toast and it was impressive. The dish featured brioche stuffed with sweet Arabian cheese and coated with kadaif, orange and rose compote, charred grapes, lime mascarpone and fresh berries. The brioche absorbed all the beautiful flavours from the compote and worked a treat with the mascarpone and sweet Arabian cheese. The dish was sweet but not too overly sweet. I loved the presentation of the charred grapes on a skewer.Overall we really enjoyed the food at Town House Hampton. I rate it 4.5 ⭐️ out of 5 and recommend that you check them out if you’re in the area.
Is there anything better in Summer than visiting a beachside suburb and finding a great spot for coffee and food? In Hampton, you can do no wrong by popping into Town House for their delicious food with it’s Middle Eastern influences. The coffee too is pretty amazing in this pretty, light filled cafe. It’s modern aesthetic is still comfortable, and the staff were generous and friendly. The fritters that we ordered were a large serve of golden corn fritters topped with a bountiful salad, pickled onions and a perfectly poached egg. The salad was a refreshing touch, and the fritters were seasoned perfectly and the pops of fresh corn was so full of flavour. With porridge on the menu, I knew I had to sample the Town House version. With it’s rhubarb compote, fresh peanut butter, and chopped nuts; I found myself in oats heaven. This bowl was extremely satisfying, and the sharpness of the rhubarb was fantastic. I absolutely adored this porridge, and would not hesitate to order it again.Town House is such a pleasure to visit. From the lovely ambience, excellent food and delicious coffee; to friendly service with a smile, this gorgeous cafe is definitely worth a return visit next time I’m in the area.
With a Middle-Eastern influenced menu, Town House is making waves in the Hampton cafe scene. The crowds coming in for a meal, and those waiting for takeaway coffees prove that Town House has quickly become a local favourite.Knafeh French Toast is gaining traction in the café scene and we did not hesitate to order this to try it out. Brioche stuffed with sweet Arabian cheese, this was an indulgent treat that is best shared. The tartness of the fresh berries and the subtle zing from the lime mascarpone balanced out this saccharine dish, and the aromatic rose compote was pleasing to the senses. The Flamenco Egg is the Andalusian version of a baked egg, and this was an incredibly hearty dish. Comfort food at its finest. The addition of almond pesto and herbs lent a clean taste to the richness of the sauce, and the toasted multi-grain was perfect for moping up every last bit of the tasty sauce.Chermoula Eggplant is not a dish you see every day on a café’s menu, which made this hard to pass up. A combination of earthy and bright flavours, and the eggplant was beautifully roasted. It was also a very hearty dish, courtesy of the tender and meaty chunks of lamb stuffed within. Our coffees were excellent, and the light-filled space makes for a relaxing spot to brunch. With a courtyard out back that’s perfect for warm summer days, Town House is worth checking out when you are in the area. Thank you for the lovely meal.
