Honestly love everything about this place. The food was spectacular and the coffee was the best I have had in a long time.
Came here on a warmer day to try the hyped Bird’s nest.
The dish is so well made. Flavour balance is great, everything in seasoned well and the eggs are perfectly cooked with a runny yolk. Tasting the dish we feel like it has been made by people who appreciate food and took the care to make sure each element was made well.
The coffee was also amazing that we ended up getting another round of takeaway coffees as we left.
The staff were also lovely and happy to give their recommendations which didn’t disappoint.
Fabulous cafe in Camberwell. The staff are friendly, and the coffee is delicious. Love the decor its super modern yet comfy. Will definitely revisit for lunch the menu looks great.
Good coffee. The food was cooked wonderfully. The flavours were good. The menu was appealing and compromised of standard favourites with a twist. Generous portions. The space was light filled and sleek. Service was a bit mediocre though.
After talking about it for so long, my partner and I finally got the chance to visit Lights in the attic again, with the sole purpose of ordering the Birds nest for the second time.
Just like we had remembered, everything about the dish was amazing and we couldnt help but admire the presentation of it all. As suggested by the name, the dish resembled something similar to a birds nest- with potato strings shaped into a nest and two perfectly standing eggs which lay amongst the potato, tomato beans and kale- such a creative invention.
Of course, the flavours were just as impressive, and we loved every aspect of it. Scotch eggs were cooked to perfection, and revealed a gooey centre with egg yolk flowing out as soon as you cut into it. Not to the mention, the overall flavours of the tomato base paired with the potato nest and eggs were so delicious that I didnt want my meal to end.
Overall, we had a lovely meal at Lights in the attic, and will no doubt be back sometime in the future!

I found this cafe a little underwhelming on the whole. After reading a good food blog review, the result was average. The staff, while nice enough, werent really attentive and we were placed right in the middle of a walkway. The colours and tones throughout could have been calming and serene but just didnt quite achieve the desired vibe. The food was tasty but portion sizes differed with each meal. Coffee was average. On the whole, it wasnt bad, just nothing great.

Lights in the Attic or more like light at the end of the tunnel. Needing a jumpstart to my day, and Lights in the Attic made sure I was well provided for. Wonderful service, delicious food, great coffee and not forgetting the relaxing and casual vibe of the place.
My partner and I shared the Bird Nest and Beef Katsu Burger. Both awesome dishes in their own right, but if I had to choose, the burger comes out top. The beef katsu patty was encased in a light crispy batter, and the middle was still slightly red and very succulent. The Monterey Jack Cheddar provided a sharp flavour that combined perfectly with the sweet and tangy apple BBQ sauce. The bun was soft yet held its shape extremely well. I couldn’t fault anything with this burger.
Similarly, the Bird Nest was an absolutely flavourful dish that was rich in flavours and hearty. The scotch eggs were amazing, with its beautiful runny yolks. The only minor issue I had with this dish was that the potato nest could benefit from a bit more crunch.
Our skinny lattes were excellent – smooth, strong and just the right temperature.
A previous review mentioned that they don’t accept the Entertainment Book voucher but this is now not the case. The discount was provided with no fuss.
