The service and the range of beers were both good, however the meals on pasta night were basic and left a lot to be desired, unfortunately the carbonara was only available with spaghetti and strangely overpowered with garlic

Pub nearby to home and honestly only go there because we get shop-a-dockets that’s entitle you to a buy one meal get the cheaper one free. The food is just ok, and it is overpriced for what is. On the plus side, nice friendly service and complimentary warm dinner rolls with your meal.

Riversdale Hotel offers up the similar type of pub food you would expect from most places.

My partner ordered a very average, yet adequate Chicken Parmigiana and I took on the Riversdale Burger, their apparent signature dish. Both meals were definitely edible, there was nothing untoward about them, but nothing special either.

We decided to dine here because I had found a discount docket on the back of a supermarket receipt. We utilised our ‘Buy 1 Get 1 Free’ Meal deal, but can honestly say that we wouldn’t pay full price for the two meals. There are so many pubs in this area to choose from, with some better ones to be found up Glenferrie Road.

Wow that was interesting. The cook (definitely not chef) seems to have given up. If it hadnt have been funny I would have walked out. The service was pleasant enough except for the bar but meal was bordering on criminal. Being where it is located I stumbled in thinking it could be quite nice although then the decor put me off. Think 70’s country counter meal but managed to get excited when I saw the prices. $22 dollars and above which must mean it is good. Wow no, I summoned my inner child and ordered a chicken parma (photo attached – I never take photos but thought it was funny) and my partner ordered the Osso Bucco. The parma for some reason only had a small amount of cheese and sauce and looked as though it had been dropped and the Osso Bucco sauce was granulated and disgusting. The chips were manufactured chips but not the good kind. I actually walked around the pub thinking of things that they could improve as you have to be able to buy it cheap as I would not expect that many people visit twice.

I always go to the sports bar, good value for money, the wide ranging menu with my favourites such as a scotch fillet steak to a parma or even roast of the day. Good atmosphere playing the live sports and even a fun place for a couple of beers on a friday night

ok with a voucher, wouldn’t pay full price though

    Had a shop-a-docket

COELIACS/GLUTEN/ALLERGIES – limited gluten free options (soup and one mains option) other meals can be customised perhaps

TASTE/FOOD – plain tasting pub grub, nothing amazing but not terrible.

VALUE- We had a voucher for buy 1 get 1 free (max of $21 off cheapest meal) so value

WORTH GOING BACK? – maybe with a voucher but would probably try somewhere else.

DOWNHILL ALL THE WAY. We used to be very regular customers. Took my best friend there for a birthday dinner along with my daughter. I was absolutely disgusted and embarrassed. Food was below food court quality. Chicken schnitzel was manufactured meat, dish my friend ordered was swimming in bottled tomato sauce, chicken was dried out and burnt. We used to recommend this place to all our friends as having fantastic meals, fresh and generous portions but never again. Just to top it off…..called the manager Tom to complain and was told he would look into it and call me back….still waiting for over a month! Hanging yourselves Riversdale Hotel!
