Got a few takeaway bagels from here and was a bit disappointed in comparison to the ones we got from the Elsternwick location a few weeks ago. The bagels themselves were all good, freshly baked and fluffy inside – we ordered 1 rainbow, 1 sourdough rye and 1 original. The rainbow was the most disappointing, with the bacon and egg filling. For some reason, the tomato chutney was served in a container on the side, rather than spread on the bagel as it was the first time I tried it. This made the bagel overall taste very dry and a bit bland. The schnitzel had good coating and the roast beef bagel also had a good flavour. Overall still enjoyable, just not as good as the first time.
Today I enjoyed a classic sesame bagel with cream cheese, salmon, capers and salad greens from Bagelicous. I ordered this via Uber Eats and turn around was around 20 minutes. What I got was a very well put together bagel. I’d even go as far as to say this bagel was delicious, bagelicious even. Generous on both salmon and cream cheese, only subtle capers (I would have liked more) and getting them to leave off the red onion was easy via the app. Certainly the best of three lunches I have ordered this week via Uber eats.
