This was my second visit in three months. I was really impressed with them the first time. I has breakfast there which included Wheat toasted bread (kind of like areppas) with scrambled eggs and coffee. They had a chilli relish which was the hero of the dish. It was rich and had amazing flavour and tasted good with both the things on the plate. Coffee was really good too.
But the second time when i went there, the hero was missing and that was disappointing. The dish did not taste the same without it. It was not bad but it was not at the level that it was with the relish. Eggs were cooked perfectly. They had this amazing texture and tasted real nice.
We had ordered a chai latte and a Latte this time and they were not good at all. Maybe it was a different barista, I don’t know, but the coffee was not strong enough, i was just getting a hint of coffee flavour and same with Chai latte.
I like this place a lot but because of these inconsistencies i am giving them 3 stars. Based on my first experience they deserve a 4. Maybe i’ll visit again and revise my rating. 😀
This is my usual spot during exam periods to sit with a friend and just chat about life. Friendly always smiling staff and ambience is satisfying. The only thing I have to complain about is their music. It gets too loud at times, it felt like I am sitting in a concert or something.
Their Spanish Hot Chocolate is best I have had and currently I would it’s the best place to have hot chocolate in Glenferrie. Their churros are good too, I had it couple of times but yeah do not have it when it’s cold, it looses the taste when it gets cold.
I wanted to try their Paella but unfortunately for me it comes with pork and they do not have any other option as of now so I had to let it go.
**3.5 stars** I dont mind this place at all. I come here for the original churros which hardly ever fails. Crispy Spanish doughnuts with generous coats of cinnamon. The non-alcoholic sangrias have somewhat gone downhill though… its become more bitter, losing that delicious touch of sweet and fruity flavour. Still, the ambiance is nice (Spanish music plays through the speakers in the background). Staff arent as welcoming as before but at least service is still fast.
What a great refreshing addition to Hawthorn. Friendly owner who greets clients and a great tasting menu.
We had lentil soup, chicken salad, Spanish chips, and an amazing hot chocolate with home made churros.
My wife and I loved the service the food and we will
Be back.
