There is a lot to be said about a name. Just because a place calls itself French doesn’t make it French.
Today I had coffee and a Croque Monsieur for breakfast at this cafe. The service was ok but very slow given that all that the food just had to be heated up and the cafe was not busy.
My food was served before my coffee. The Croque Monsieur tasted pretty average but my coffee was better.
The pastries in the display cabinet looked like they’d been there for a while and the sausage rolls and the pies were all cold in the display cabinet, and I dont know how long theyd been there for.
I did buy a Florentine for my partner to t/a and I had a taste and it was sickly sweet! Eek!
Overall it was slow service and average food for me.
Omg, the pistachio croissant was the bomb!!. The contrast of the pastachio filling with the cherry jam worked really well. Lemon meringue was lovely too – the lemon curd was nicely sharp. Coffee was satisfactory, but service was haphazard. Many items were forgotten with 3 reminders for various items. That’s the only reason for deduct a point. Otherwise I would highly recommend.
