The mushroom aranchini balls were alright but took more than half an hour to prepare and by the time I got my meal, everyone else was finished!

I adore this place, especially coming for dinner. Eating here is like being transported straight back to Italy. The food is beautiful and simple, and the staff are so warm and welcoming. One of the best Italian food experiences in Melbourne.

It’s an hidden italian gem. Superb cuisine genuine italian dish really bring me back to my country to the tipical Roman trattoria. The stuff is fantastic very friendly and really make you enjoy your meal.Veramente bravi complimenti ogni scusa buona per venirvi a trovare ambiente delizioso

The place was surprisingly bigger than I expected with a large back area with lots of seating. It was pretty quiet when we went. Loved the ambience, especially the music choice. It just felt nice.

After a quick scan of their menu I wanted to try their corn fritters. That was a disappointment. It tasted like a soggy pancake with bits of corn. It was also lukewarm and cold by the time I finished. I so wanted to love this place but I wouldn’t say I loved the dish I had.

Coffees were great though. Service was lovely too but with so many great, amazing cafes out there, I think this just falls a bit below the mark.

The heart of Italy is in Olio & Pane Hawthorn. This cozy cafe is filled with lovely Italian waiters, chefs music. The home made banana & walnut bread with season fruit & honey is delicious. Recently they replaced the mascarpone cheese with Greek yoghurt, I would love it if they would go back to the mascarpone. I never leave this place until I’ve had my two coffees there, their coffee is that good. Split.the_bill

Nice cozy little place on the corner! Wasn’t busy on a Sunday after noon – very generous serving sizes. A good hearty meal – Will definitely be back!
