Formica tables make this not a great eat in date place. Fantastic takeaway though.

Hasn’t changed years. The decor needs a bit of a revamp but those prices! It’s like it hasn’t updated their prices since the nineties. Your not going to get a five star meal but a good asian meal.
This is a great place if you are looking for value for money. Special fried rice is excellent for what they charge, as is the chicken and cashew nut. You get what you pay for and I’d rather give these people my money than pay double for the place a few doors down. It’s similar stuff but you pay a premium for the fixtures and fittings. The lady that serves you is really lovely and I always go back to this place for the consistency of the food at a great price.
Been coming here for 15 years plus, food and prices haven’t changed, nor has the delightful lady that runs it. Fancy it ain’t, but nor are the prices. This is good home cooked Chinese, freshly prepared. I still think the special fried rice here is the best I’ve ever had anywhere, flowerdrum, choi’s, all throughout Asia, etc included. This is best thing about Highett and it’ll be a sad day if/when it ever goes. Support it while you can.
Best chinese in victoria. Have been going here since 1992…yes its not a rich fancy place but the food outdoes any other chinese restaurant. Ive since moved an hour away from this place and still travel back there to eat. Prices havent changed since i was there, soups are still a couple dollars! Great homemade food passed down through their previous family owners.
How is this place still open??. Tried the steamed dim sims (if you can call them that) and the spring rolls.
The worst dim sims I have ever tasted, and the spring roll was ordinary to say the least as well. After trying a bite from the dim sim I almost gargled the soy sauce to remove the taste from my mouth, I threw my serviette on the plate and left in disgust.
