Well we turned up to the winery around lunchtime and saw this enormous sign in red saying closed but cars in the car park so I decided to call and see if they had forgotten to take down the sign – that would be a no!!I called the venue and went straight to reservations so I asked the question are you open??? The snotty woman said no we are closed for a private function so I then asked if they are normally open on weekends, she obviously misheard or couldn’t wait to get me off the phone as she repeated herself in a ‘are you not listening tone’ so I repeated my question again. Would not bother to visit if this is my first impression along with that enormous closed sign.JUST A SUGGESTION!!! Why not have a friendly sign that says ‘we are so sorry we are not open but are booked for a private function. Please come back (state the day and opening hours) as we would love to share our wines/experience with you. Not hard really is it? Maybe the woman was flustered as I think she said they were having a wedding – guess that brings in big dollars!! Very disappointed
Fantastic food and incredible views! I would recommend anyone travelling through the area to stop here for lunch. I have fallen in love with the waitress, she is simply divine!
Did you check out my travel post to Phillip Island? If not you must, since this is what we were upto the second day of our travels. Whenever I travel within Australia, I try and visit a local winery or restaurant in the region – a part of the holiday I incorporate to broaden my understanding of food and wines here. Though a lot of names came up while researching for wineries both in Phillip Island and along the Gippsland Highway, Djinta Djinta captured my interest as they had a restaurant on the property.
Divine food and beautiful view, owner was very friendly and attentive. Recommended wine paired very well with my main. Would definitely come back and try their tasting platter again.
We went on a Friday Tapas evening and it was wondeful experience. We ordered different kinds of tapas and savoured some homegrown wines. Everything was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and left satisfied. Our host was a really nice and friendly person. We do recommend Friday evening Tapas at djinta djinta. Oh, and their seasonal al la carte menu looks splendid also. We will be back soon.
