Had not been to Laksa King Flemington for around ten years but it is just as good as I remember! The place was jam packed but we were seated quickly next to the front window.
I ordered the chicken laksa which was beautiful. It was a big serve with chicken, noodles, tofu, some eggplant in a thick curry and coconut soup. Absolutely delightful
Everyone else in our group of four also thoroughly enjoyed their meals.
We went there around 5.30pm and we didnt have to wait in the line. But after 6 there was a long line. We ordered Curry Laksa Chicken, and it was good! Very hot, very chilli! By the way you can only pay by cash.
I have wanted to try this place for so long and finally had an opportunity to go for a Saturday lunch.
The place was buzzing and busy packed with customers. Had to wait about 15 minutes to find a table. We were given menus and water fairly promptly and our order came within 12 minutes . Very efficient. We both went for the chicken laksa.
Good size bowls of steaming noodles, chicken and tasty broth with the perfect amount of heat . I now see what all the fuss is all about. Not the best I have had but very good.
The only gripe I had with our experience was the roti and satay sauce dish my partner ordered.
The peanuts in the sauce were rancid which made it unpleasant to eat. Apart from that it was good.

This place is always full, but the seafood laksa is amazing! Omg so tasty, fresh, very good cook seafood, good portion is a explosion of flavour! I love this place I will come back again and again. The price is average.
There’s no better place to get Laksa other than the original/pioneer of Laksa in town! Laksa King is by far the best Laksa you can get in Melbourne! The curry based soup has enough spice yet not too hot. The portion is generous and it’s delicious!
The laksa noodle soup here is really yummy – I do not usually like laksa but man I slurped it all the way to the end. The soup is really good. The teh tarik drink is yummy too. Duck salad only so-so. Busy place this one.
Laksa King is a popular Asian restaurant in Melbourne. Its not located in the city, though. Came here because we were in the neighbourhood, no regrets at all!
Crispy Wasabi Prawn
Price: $23.8
Taste:
The wasabi prawn was really good. It might seem weird at first seeing wasabi, but the wasabi flavour was just a slight hint, and it added more flavour. The prawn was perfectly crispy, it was really enjoyable. Wished there were more. Definitely recommend this one.
Combination Curry Laksa
Price: 10.8
Taste:
It was really flavourful. The portion was quite generous. It was perfect for a cold night. One of the best laksa in Melbourne for sure.
Roasted Duck Fried Rice with Truffle Oil
Price: $19.8
Taste:
It was not as good as the other two. There was no taste of truffle at all. The roast duck fried rice itself was pretty good, though. It was still good, but its not that memorable.
Keep in mind that they accept cash only, there was an ATM machine provided, though.
