Review: The burger itself is massive! With a thick and somewhat greasy Mac n cheese croquette, wagyu patty and cheese on top my first bite was pure bliss. But then the rich flavours started to build up, with cheese on cheese it became quite tiring to finish. The greasy cheese, patty and fried croquette made it very hard to finish the whole thing I wish there was more lettuce or vegetables to cut down the that greasiness. The lettuce that was in between the burger did not give much freshness I would recommend using a lettuce with much more substance and crunch like iceberg lettuce and not butter leaf because it didnt give much texture. On a brighter note the patty was juicy and tender, bun was nicely toasted and soft! Staff were super nice, although there wasnt much interaction because it was rather self serve.
Overall experience: For one standard meal it was $22 per person, for me it was quite expensive ..I wish they could change their prices to make the burger experience a bit more affordable.

There’s a burger derby in Melbourne and lots of horses in the race. If you want to back a winner, then I suggest betting on Straight Six.
I’m not a ‘horse racing’ person, so the racing horse champion themed burgers are lost on me, and their styling is very subtle. There are no horse statues, Melbourne shaped glasses on show, and the staff are not wearing jockey caps. I didn’t even know Straight Six was named after the final straight of Flemington racecourse (bad Melburnian Iknow). I do however, love the splashes of pink throughout the premises. We all need a bit of pink in our lives. The place is well lit and would be great for families as well as a burger with your squad.
The reason you come here are the burgers. They won’t win the best looking burgers on the gram, but they will win your tastebuds and stomach. Smash patties, juicy and tender with lots of flavour. Well sauced and filled. A ‘simple’ burger, which looks and tastes good. What more do you really want from a burger joint really. Sides are great, as are the shakes (I like the redskin one).
Straight Six is well worth the trip to Flemington. In this saturated burger market, Straight Six noses itself out in front on the home stretch to win the Burger Derby.
Another local school holiday lunch option. Little Man needed a burger and we thought we’d give this place a go. I was amazed to watch him devour his entire mini beef cheeseburger, while I thoroughly enjoyed my Pharlap. Mr B went for the Makybe Diva which received no complaints. To accompany we went all out with the Straight Six loaded fried with their punchy jalapenos and spicy burger sauce. Absolutely appreciate that I have this place so close to home. Its neon lights and bright tiling make for a shiny asset to the Flemington area.

Sunday afternoon on the 13th of January Staff looked like they’d rather be anywhere else. I was given the wrong burger and the staff took it to the kitchen rolled his eyes to the chef and told them to make the burger that I have requested plus the chef insisted that he had made the right one

We have had better burgers very messy and onion ring tasted so oily it was disgusting.
If you love American style burgers, this is for you.
I have eaten here twice – had the double cheeseburger and the original pattysmith burger. Both were delicious. The burgers are really nice here.
On my second visit i did try the mac and cheese katsu which was not bad. Some places make them really dry but these were pretty good. I would order them again. Fries were good and bbq sauce delish.
They have imported drinks like Coors beer and Dr Pepper which is also great. I love this place and will drive from the south east to eat here again.

I’d been here before when it was called Straight Six and I found it to be good without being spectacular. I learned quickly that they have improved over the past year or so. The Swiss contained truffle mayo, beef, swiss cheese and marinated mushrooms. I found the mushrooms smashed beef patty and truffle mayo to be absolutely delicious the cheese was nice but I would have preferred an American style cheese. However that wouldn’t have been in theme with the burger so for that reason id keep it. The redskin milkshake was fantastic as were the spicy loaded fries.
Strong oil smell when first entering the place. Friendly service and the seating is colourful.
Large tables which is great. Large beer battered fries were average and lightly seasoned.
Chicken and waffle was okay. Chicken was slightly spicy and dry whilst the waffle had a light crispy shell but inside was soggy.
The double patty had a toasted brioche bun with thin beef patties.
