An extremely inviting place from the moment you walk in, menu read well and decided to order the Bibimbap with beef which is a Korean dish and the first time I’ve eaten this so can’t compare it (there is also a tofu option.) It landed on the table in a sizzling hot pot and looked devine and in the Bowl were mushrooms, seaweed, carrot, onion, bean shoots, spring onion, marinated beef and a fried egg on a bed of brown rice. I chose the soy sauce dressing over the chilli sauce. It was a beautiful well balanced dish and stayed warm until the last mouthful due to the hot plate it was served in. The rice developed a nice slight char as it continued to cook and the dish was served with a miso soup and a small side dish of veggies comprising of beans, omelette and potato and carrot which were delicate and extremely tasty. The jasmine tea was nice but the green tea was too strong as it had an extra pod in the tea pot. How could I have missed this place after all these years, an absolute gem.

    Food review:
The biggest thing that stood out for me was the offering of delicious sides that are so different from the classic beansprouts and kimchi combination that you often get fed. I’m a big fan of unique attributes and the small details which makes Sori Cafe highly recommended in my books. This place is also vegetarian friendly which makes it an easy choice to bring my friends.
Unfortunately, I’m a big fan of tofu but it was only decent.

    Service:
The service was absolutely stellar! Shoutout to the ajumma with glasses who was so sweet. She greeted us with smiles and made us feel incredibly welcome.
Although we were the only ones in the restaurant, she didn’t crowd us or rush our order. She brought our food with smiles and made sure we were having a good time.

They’re only open for dinner now, but I definitely look forward to coming back to try some of their other dishes. 🙂

Love this place. All time favourite. The menu never changes. (It would be nice to add a few more dishes)
Food always comes out quickly. Very clean inside and good food hygiene and well trained staff/owner.
The quality of food is consistent no matter when you come in. Guess they keep things small for this reason.

Such a delightful cafe for so many reasons! Have been a couple of times with celiac bestie and the service is the best – the staff remember their customers, and are so friendly, considerate and obliging. The food is delicious and comforting and most importantly for us, reliably GF friendly! It’s these little details that count.
    Highly recommend this spot. A+!

The food here is delicious and very well priced – my personal favourite is the Teriyaki Tofu. The staff are also unbelievably friendly, and I’ve found that they’re willing to cater to intolerances and allergies. Lovely local that I think deserves more praise!

Serve was great and food was unusual and very tasty. Very friendly and intimate location. Never had any of these dishes before and really enjoyed the spicy food.

The food is delicious and the women who run it are absolutely lovely. We’ll definitely be returning again with friends so they can share in the deliciousness. Oh, and the vegetarian options are exceptional!
