Talk about a hidden gem! This place needs a reputation – because it was perfect. Gorgeous fit out, with the most amazing atmosphere – somewhere to do your work or catch up with a friend and talk. With awesome and attentive service, I chose the mushroom dish (and added poached egg and beef brisket) and despite me thinking it looked small, I was the perfect amount of full. The coffee was great too, and overall – Ill be back! Loved it – good job guys
Those Steak infused with the chargrilled smell was really enjoyable! We had flat white and it was strong and smooth. Mushrooms is a little pale in comparison and light as well. The broth is a little on the salty side but goes alright with the other ingredients on the plate. Looks pretty on the plate but not my favourite. For the steak and coffee this place deserve 4*s.
A beautiful cafe in Kew. The interior design is clean and contemporary, thanks to the white timber walls and the various indoor plants spread across the area. Theres also a nice open courtyard at the back, perfect for a sunny day. We came in an hour before closing time so it wasnt too busy. Great table service and friendly staff. We were looking forward to our meals but lets just say it wasnt quite what we had expected. Though the food presentation is great, both the dishes we ordered were lacking in ways: The Heirloom carrots had a lot of that sour vinegar taste, especially on the bigger sized carrots, which was hard to swallow (and hard to bite). The lentil puree couldnt help balance out that sourness taste. Meanwhile, the Flank Steak was interesting I saw the pictures on Instagram and couldnt wait to try it out. It turned out that the meat was very chewy and the sides had a strong taste of burnt charcoal. Eating the steak by itself was hard, but eating it with the soft beer bread seemed to help kill that burnt taste. Still, it wasnt a bad dish… but it could definitely be improved. The coffee here is nothing short of delicious. Id still come back here to try some of the other options on the menu.
Visited here on the weekend with my husband and had an amazing experience. I ordered a mocha, hubby had a FW – the coffee was one of the best I’ve had. Hubby chose the steak for breakfast (!!) and absolutely loved it. I had the special, a quinoa porridge and it was absolutely delicious. We cannot wait to return. Plenty of gf options, and lots of unusual items to try on the menu!
The service was excellent but the star of the show is the food – blimey it was tasty! They have plenty of vegan options (hallelujah) I had the cauliflower steak today with pickled vegetables – soo much flavour that I was not expecting. I also had a fresh celery apple and ginger juice.
Hubby absolutely loved his skirt steak with eggs.
We will be coming back.
