Love this place! Service is always lovely. The food is always delicious. Recommend starting with the samosas then have the butter chicken, coconut fish curry and the dhal. Consistently good. Best fish curry I’ve ever had!
Kindly at least serve freshly made garlic paratha rather than half cooked frozen ones. I went by the zomato rating and was very disappointed. Worst garlic paratha and daal makhani I Have ever had.
My boyfriend and I had a lovely meal. We ordered the nacho style entree and a curry each. The food was delicious and the staff were all lovely. We left so satisfied and happy with our night and would come back in a heart beat! Thanks Dhaba
Take me back to this amazing place! I am thrilled to have found such beautiful Indian food in Kyneton. The stone walls, wooden floors and remnants of the Kyneton mill make this dining experience a cosy little adventure. The restaurant is very comfortable with dim lighting and the heater blasting. The vibe of the restaurant is also quiet so you can chat away with your friends not having to yell or worry about the acoustics of the room. The tables are also a good distance apart from each other which is always a tick in my book. There is a projector on the back stone wall that plays Bollywood movies throughout the night in the restaurant. I kept saying to my friends I felt like I was in the Indian hobbit- the restaurant had the vibe of bilbos house with all the wood. Now to the food!!! The menu doesn’t have an extensive list which is something I haven’t experienced at Indian restaurants before. We ordered the lemongrass lamb, the malai kofta, the dhal, the butter chicken, rice and naan bread. Oh my- the aromas and flavours of the curries were absolutely delicious. The spices were fresh, the dishes not too sweet and there was just the right amount of heat. The lemongrass lamb was tender, succulent and the lemongrass flavour did not overpower the dish. The dhal was nice, but it was quite thick and the flavour was a little bit bland. The lentils weren’t the nicest texture (I love lentils). The naan bread was yum too, but closer to roti bread than traditional thick naan. I thought this thinner bread complimented the dishes well, but I am a sucker for thick naan. The garlic naan wasn’t too garlic heavy as can sometimes be the case. Friendly and efficient service, the food came out quickly but we were left to our own devices with no pressure to exit quickly. I will be back here whenever I’m in Kyneton. Loved it!
Great food, all you can eat buffet style on Sunday nights with a variety of meats and veggie options, great staff, good drinks selection, fabulous venue. Not much to fault!
