Good place for a good meal served by a friendly staff.
Probably best categorised as slightly upmarket pub food with a couple of more adventurous items on the specials board.
Located within a gambling venue but the noise levels are not intrusive.
Value for money is very good.
Confused chef. My partner and I came on a Thursday for an early dinner. We were given bread rolls and butter almost straight away which was great.
I ordered a seafood basket which costed less than $10 and my partner ordered the special which was pesto penne with olives and sundried tomatoes for $16.70.
I watched my partner pay for the meals at the bar and noticed that the barman kept looking at the specials board as if looking at the ingredients or price. Five minutes later I see the chef come out and study the specials board, clearly identifying that they had no idea what the special was or what he needed to cook. One minute later the waitress wiped the pasta special off the board.
When the pasta arrived I saw no traces of either pesto or sundried tomatoes. Instead, fresh tomatoes were used and it looked more like a tomato based pasta instead of a pesto based pasta. My meal was quite big and cheap but you could tell everything came out of the freezer.
I will be very cautious about coming here for anything else but a drink.
