I wish this place was closer to home because I’d eat here all the time. Got the Reuben and Cubano and I still can’t decide which is better. The servings were quite generous, heaps of pastrami, heaps of pork. Just yum. Can’t fault anything.
The smokery is my favourite place in Lilydale. The owner Alex is beautiful, friendly and kind. When you ask for the biggest coffee they have you will be treated to a BOWL, YES I SAID BOWL, and its delicious! The food is beautifully smoked, you will always leave full, but a comfortable full. I have brought my dog along and sat outside, my dog was also treated to a meal.
The staff and service are spectacular and kind. Hands down best meal in Lilydale!
Great mind blowing experience . The char siew and naughty brisket burger were out of the world. Check out the bacon jam too. I can feel the passion of the owner in his food.

The servers were friendly and informative.
A great little cafe serving their own smoked meats in burgers, toasted sandwiches and the like…and boy – you really can taste the difference.
Only one small criticism – the coffee was not hot enough.

Such a great little find. Not sure how this doesn’t have a higher rating. Food was delicious and tasty, I had the pulled pork and the bun was so fresh and soft, the pork was just perfect as was the apple slaw. The guy who served us (i think he was the owner) was so friendly and helpful and has the best customer service I’ve experienced in years. He even gave us a little surprise popper at the bottom of our chip basket. He was keen to help my wife with her food intolerances to make sure she also enjoyed her food (and learning himself too).
The best, this place is simply fantastic.
Alex cares about his food and his venue. Always being sure to greet his customers, and to check in on how they’re enjoying their meals.
I ordered my Christmas ham from here too, which was perfect and enjoyed by my whole family. It’s my go-to place for a hungover feed, as well as while showing people around the valley!
I am in love. Went here for the first time today and had the greatest Reuben I have had outside of the US! Loved the jalapeo popper and pickle coleslaw on the side and such friendly service! A breath of fresh air for the outer east.
