From when we first arrived until we left, the service here was fantastic. Our steaks were nice and fat and cooked perfectly. We highly recommend this hotel as a must to eat at when in Lorne!

After a long walk in the rain on a cold day from the main part of Lorne, we found it just didnt have that warm welcoming feeling environment. perhaps because they probably didnt have heating on. by the way, when we set out to walk it wasnt raining but it rained halfway in case anyone might wonder why we would walk in the rain. anyway, we came in for a bit of dinner but was a tad early so we had drinks while we pre-ordered. Drinks we standard and staff were friendly. It appears they were preparing for a fully booked night as they were busy setting up extra tables. We ordered a seafood chowder to share as starters, and the Porterhouse and the parma. Food came out relatively quick after the 6pm dining time. The chowder nice especially being a bit cold and wet, and steak was great and cooked as requested. however the parma whilst good and appeared big, the chicken itself was thin and consisted mainly of the bread crumb coating which was soggy. Placing the meat over chips doesnt help and makes the chips soggy too. nevertheless, the servings are large and does the job when hungry. Overall, much a standard pub meal which is neither here or there. Staff and service was both friendly and efficient. Pricing is slightly on the high side for a pub albeit i think they are trying to be a gastropub.
