We ordered one soft shell crab roll and one nabeyaki udon. The portion of Soft shell crab roll is a bit small. The nabeyaki udon tastes blend. But the main reason why makes me gives it 1 star is not because of the food. When we pay the bill, their eftpos machine connection got problem. And unluckily we dont have enough cash, we would like to pay credit card. But no matter how they try to connect the machine is still not working and no connection. So they ask us to do bank transfer for the bill. Thats unpleasant experience so I wont visit this restaurant again.

The most annoying thing is that they charge you for extras such as extra mayonnaise or soy sauce. We asked for a couple of extra soy sauces with our takeaway sushi, you know, the little fish shaped ones, and they insisted on giving us a container of soy sauce and charging us $2 for it. And weve been going there for years, and they still charged us for extra soy, not smart. We wont be going there again.
Came here a long time ago and we fondly remember the good food however unfortunately it was a different story this time around. The shabushabu was bland and the meat was tough. The sushi was fairly good but some of the other dishes we tried were not that great. Hopefully this was a once off….
really recommend this restaurant . delicious food and kind staff. everything is perfect. really like soft crab burger and tempura at Asakusa
Our favourite Japanese restaurant in Melbourne. Teriyaki beef, fried chicken, yakitori and tempura prawns are standouts. Love the ambience it’s a really comfortable restaurant with great staff.
We went there at 6:30 and got seated immediately, order around 7:00 and only got our food 43 mins to 1 hour later. Service is HORRIBLE. I don’t understand how this restaurant got such high ratings. I asked for a glass of warm water twice and upon leaving the restaurant now I have not yet gotten it. We ordered a variety of sushi, sashimi, udon and the shabu-shabu. The food is mediocre at best, everything had TOO much vegetables and all felt overpriced and cheap. There was a lack of fresh poultry and meat. I am very disappointed with the restaurant and would not recommend my friends or family to come back. They should improve on their service and listening skills. The waitresses were even gossiping at the counter and ignoring our requests. The taste was really bland. Never coming back here again.
Ambience: small restaurant with not crowded feeling, which is good.
Favourite Japanese for a special dinner. Food priced as expected for Japanese and restaurant fit out is okay, but nothing flash. Salmon skin rolls and deep fried flounder are personal favourites. All sushi and sashimi prepared by someone who knows what they’re doing, so be prepared to wait a little for your servings if the place is full when you walk in. Service is good and drinks are affordable. Good variety of Japanese drinks available.
