I really enjoy the coffees here. Ordered my usual latte with one sugar, it had a smooth and mild yet distinct coffee flavour. Can’t really say the same for the food as I’ve eaten here a few times and never quite felt satisfied. Just recently had the Eggs Bennie, I found the compressed pork not very pleasant as it was dry and crumbly (I think that’s just how it is). The dish was also quite small. (sorry no photo this time!)
Since Axil has one of the best reputations for fantastic coffee in Melbourne, it’s a no brainer that the Chadstone location would be extremely popular. It’s certainly my favourite place for a takeaway coffee when I’m shopping here; and if I’m lucky, I will manage to get a table!With it’s fantastic location, and modern fit out, Axil is very convenient when you are in need of a caffeine fix. They do have an interesting food menu, but I usually just have one of their fantastic pastries. The cruffins and nutella croissants are particularly good. Service is really quick even though it’s always busy, and I have found staff to be quite pleasant. Living up to the Axil name, this location is definitely another winner.

I actually want to give Axil 3.5stars but I can only give whole number stars! For the most part I love Axil coffee and the baristas are great. Smooth, rich and velvety coffee just the way I like it. But the last two times I’ve been I have found that it’s starting to get a bit of a sour aftertaste, and I’m not a coffee connoisseur so I have no idea why it’s happening! It has been my favourite coffee joint in Chaddy so I hope that it’s just one off occasions. Others have said that the food is good too, so definitely worth a visit as a great pit stop to refuel when shopping or a great place to catch up for brunch with family and friends.
