Was here for casual dinner with two friends. I am a big fan for xiaolongbao, my friend is also a food lover, but we even not finish all. Pineapple prawns are too sweet and taste really normal, xiaolongbao is also not that good. But surprised that they do a fire pineapple beef. For the steam dumplings are not hot and too dry, like was cooked for long time food. Hope to improve later.
Was excited to bring my husband here last night as he lives everything duck. The menu looked great, as did the pictures but we were pretty disappointed.
We ordered the honey glazed bbq pork puff which came out room temperature, not even warm and a little soft. That is one of our favorite at yumcha and it was a massive let down. Next was the spring onion pancake which seemed a little undercooked, thick and doughy – another disappointment. The xiao long bao was probably the best thing that came out. We also ordered 1/2 Peking duck – which for the price was not worth it at all. The crepes were thicker than they should be, the spring onion was substituted for leek and the duck itself was not bad but definitely not the best weve had. We may come back again to try other things on their menu but if Peking duck is meant to be their signature dish…. we were very underwhelmed. We were planning to have dessert there too but given the already average food we had we decided to give it a miss.
The service however was fairly quick considering we went on a Saturday night at about 8pm. Hopefully its better next time we go…
Disappointing first dining experience after the recent revamp of the restaurant. Came here on Boxing Day for dinner and while its understandable that the restaurant is quite busy, having a waiter constantly hovering at your table waiting for you to order was quite unpleasant (mind you this was after a couple mins being seated at the table). Furthermore had to ask on three seperate occasions for a cup of tea.
Moving onto the food, overall was average at best. The shredded pork (or shredded duck) with steamed buns was the only dish that wasnt too bad. The Xiao Long Bao and pork/prawn wontons in mild chilli oil were okay but nothing special and you can find yourself at other restaurants that serve better. The Grandma Fried Pork Belly was the biggest let down – bland and dry. The house special fried rice – nothing special about it as it was too soggy and doesnt have the wok fried flavour that fried rice is suppose to have.
Overall would not recommend this place as Im sure there are other Chinese restaurants within Chadstone worth giving a shot over this.
This beautiful restaurant is located in the newly revamped food court in Chadstone (the one closest to Myer). This place is beautiful! Staff are lovely and attentive. Theres a large menu, a lot with pictures, but they are all the usual Chinese cuisine favourites. This place is an upscale, casual restaurant, which although in the heart of chaddy, very quite and youre able to have a conversation with ease. Theres lots of tables and larger booths but I could imagine it would be busy during peak periods. Certainly worth the trip, the food is delicious!
Finally a good Asian restaurant in Chadstone shopping Centre. The deco is amazing and the staff (especially Ken) was superb . Had a few meals at this venue and it was top class.
There are a lot of signature dishes. Must try are the fish soups. The pine Apple fried rice is a bit average but great presentation.
10/10 for service and 7/10
For food . Some servings are bit small and expensive .
New restaurant at Chaddy. The manager is very friendly.
This place is opened by Dumpling Plus, you can see some familiar faces from the waiters and the manager.
Ordered the two roasted meat rice dish – roast pork and duck, wagyu dumpling platter – 2x Peking duck, 3x wagyu beef dumplings, 3x chili oil pork dumpling, 2x squid ink prawn dumpling. Also ordered durian king puff for dessert.
Food ok but doesn’t have the wow factor.
3.5
This newly opened restaurant opened in Chadstone and offers a great dining experience with modern crockery. Well lit interior with lantern lighting.
Food:
Peki duck nori taco is great. Semi sweet rice with kimchi and roast duck is flavoursome.
Grilled green onion pancake is recommended. Compressed, crispy and minimal oil.
Pork and wonton in mild chilli oil is on the sweeter side with a semi chilli taste . Slightly dry.
Charcoal golden lava buns seems to be egg filling and which wasnt consistent. One was dry and other was oozy.
Peking duck platter -> chive dumplings were soggy and dry, the Peking duck was average , the cucumber made it soggy but the duck was plump. The pork dumplings were big and lots of filling inside.
