Cmon guys whats with the lousy score? This place, on a Sunday at lunch, was fabulous.
Ate the coconut prawns so quickly forgot to take a photo. Two large golden coconut encrusted prawns come with lettuce, mint, radish and carrot with a lime mayo. Delish! Eaten way too fast.
Went down nicely with my Vietnamese lime soda and partners Beer Hanoi.
Then the so very tasty, fresh and light Goi, a peanut and veggie slaw w bbq chicken (see pic) was again so good. Whole plate demolished.
Service very prompt and warm. Very busy up here in the high brow eating area but so enjoyed this cant wait to return. Cam on!!
Chadstones Mamas Buoi served modern Vietnamese/Asian fusion cuisine, similar to their CBD counterpart. Food-wise, I wasnt a big fan of their pho, as I thought it was pretty bland, but the mains and entrees were pretty delicious, like their crispy soft shell crab, com tam and its juicy grilled pork chop, and the very fragrant beef betel leaf parcels. Ambiance-wise, it was comfortably bright and modern inside. It was definitely one of the more decent eateries at Chadstone!
Food was delicious and service was really good and fast. We came here on a Saturday night, it was busy but the food came out fast. We had Pho need to share it was a lot and we couldnt finish it. We also had the ribs which was really tasty too.
Unexpected dinner in mamas buoi.been trying to come here so many times and here i am!
FOOD
The soup was packed with lots of beef, noodles, bean sprouts and lemon as side dishes. Beef pho soup was light and a bit bland, lack of seasoning. however the meat was tender and juicy, perfectly cooked noodle. Compare to the size, the price is quite expensive.
Com tam was consist of pork ribs, noodle, lemon, rice, salad and egg. I think this dish was the best compare to other dishes. Showing the true taste of vietnam, the meat was tender, the portion was huge too!however is a bit pricey compare to other restaurant that serve the same dish.
Overall, the place was nice and busy at night, the staffs was friendly too..

Lovely ambience, friendly and prompt service, topped with beautiful food. The crab fried rice and silky braised eggplant were my favourites! Special mention for the generous crispy skinned pork and refreshing Viet salad and prawn crackers that were the perfect accompaniment. Will be back again!
The Dear Luncher hates going to Chadstone, but sometimes a Lunchers gotta do what a Lunchers gotta do. This particular eatery was the least busy and so it was selected. This is the opposite of what most people do. Some people see lots of people in a restaurant and think oh look, this place must be good, look at all the people. Not The Dear Luncher, people are annoying. Especially people who think Chadstone is a great place to hang out.
Thankfully when you walk through Mama’s Buoi you forget for a few moments that youre in the nucleus of retail hell. The fit-out and vibe is great. If youre up near the window, you can actually get some sunlight. The service serves well, nothing to complain about here. The dishes were interesting to say the least. This is Vietnamese with a bit of a contemporary slant to it. Theyre trying to be funky or something. Quite a few experimental dishes. By far the highlight being the butter beef rice paper rolls. The beef inside these rolls was excellent. Also ordered: Mama’s Buoi fried chicken wings. The wings were strangely fried in what was almost a tempura style. As a result, they had quite a unique texture. Unique in a good way? Not really. Too much batter, not enough chicken.
Mrs Luncher enjoyed her crispy coconut tiger prawns. Everything arrived quickly which was handy because there was a movie that needed to get watched upstairs. All in all, the experience was positive. that are very much worth your while.

Modern hip Vietnamese fusion cuisine. So petite and well presented food you can choose from their extensive ranged menu. The food here was flavoursome and fabulous, service was perfect and the waiters were attentive.
