Came here on busy Boxing Day and service was not attentive as I think they were understaffed. The Singaporean chilli crab was nice but I think they were a bit stingy on the sauce. The wagyu bowl was well flavored but a bit steep for $22 for the large bowl. The salted egg fries tasted like they were drenched in a cheese sauce :/

Well-known for their premium wagyu don, Omi have launched their new eatery, teaming up with Japanese ironchef @ikueiarakane (previously of @taxikitchen)to create a completely new udon range.

The signature wagyu was tender and juicy and my favourite was the truffled beef with the tofu a close second. Next time I’m keen to try the salmon dishes.
Check them out when you need a refuel during your shopping!

Omi just opened at Chadstone – more like Omg! So tasty, with succulent marinated wagyu beef and a 63 degree egg, perfect to fuel your shopping spree! Another favourite was the mala noodles so its a must order

Impressed with this place. Thought it would be basic but the simple dishes we ordered were delicious. Truffle fries and the kaarage chicken are amazing! Not to mention the soft shell and wagyu

A comforting wagyu bowl that I will happily eat any day. We had the mentaiko wagyu bowl and the wagyu was juicy and tender, only wished there was more of it. We also ordered the salted egg chips, it was delicious but think it would be better if the sauce wasn’t just on top of the fries coz it feels like we are just eating normal fries after a few bites. Will I come back here to eat? Yes! I love eating their wagyu bowls.

We came into the launch of the Chadstone Omi which is now a dine in restaurant . We opted for a variety of dishes predominately the wagyu ones as that was their specialty . The wagyu meat was so tender and we loved all the rice bowls we sampled. For someone who does not eat rice, I was shocked to see myself going spoon in again and again for just the plain rice- Omi are you magic ?

We also tried the curry laksa udon noodle and the mala udon- the mala udon was probably my favourite dish out of everything we sampled and we unashamedly asked for seconds. The Sichuan spice was perfect and half way through the noodles I could feel my mouth going numb why I like this feeling who knows ?

The curry laksa udon was very unique, you could definitely taste the influence and it was weird to see it presented as a dry stir fry noodle presentation of this one was so pretty !

For desserts we tried the roasted tea and matcha tea crme brulee, so delicious and perfect way to end the meal

    Thanks for having us !

After hearing heaps of good reviews from OMI – finally had the chance to drop by the newly furbished store at Chaddy! Although OMI is smack bang in the food court, it still exudes charm and modern aesthetics.

Being a Saturday night, we waited about 10 minutes for a table of two which was fairly reasonable; gotta admit the gaps between the tables were quite narrow but still understandable. Both of us ordered the Salted Egg Soft Shell Crab and Salted Egg Karaage (Fried) Chicken which we have heard so much about and a slice of crepe cake to share after the meal. Our orders arrived within 10 minutes and was piping hot! The Salted Egg sauce was drizzled on top of the soft shell crab and can I just say; it looks glorious and smells heavenly 🙂 After taking a big bite of the crab with the sauce, I can honestly say – it did NOT disappoint at all!! The soft shell crab was crunchy, freshly cooked and had a strong salted egg kick to it; it was so tasty! I’ve also tried the salted egg fried chicken, it doesn’t seem like the chicken does the salted egg sauce justice because it is slightly dry.

Then, we tried the Taro crepe cake which was good! We suspect they use the same supplier as Jinda Thai since the sauce container and cake packaging were exactly the same. For the salted egg sauce, I understand there is a slightly premium price tag to it so fair enough, my soft shell crab dish costed $15.90. Service was good overall. I would definitely drop by again the next time I’m shopping at Chaddy.

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
