Such a cute little tucked away cafe that provides such amazing food! Such a shame it took me so long to find it! I had a pretty plain dish but it still filled me with happiness just like the vibe of the cafe did! Can’t wait to come back!!
A preferred breakfast caf. Unpretentious; has a large menu selection with quite a few unusual options; cost effective; superb St Ali brand coffee. Not usually full of noisy people who have a need to scream when talking, so even when it’s busy there, a good place for a chat too. My favourite meal is the Healthy Breakfast poached eggs, avocado, tomato, spinach, multi grain toast and chutney ($16.90, see photo). Standard eggs on toast $9.50.
We have been back there frequently, always good. However today (6-Feb) I was given no chutney with my healthy breakfast, the tomatoes were tired and I was brought a coffee I didn’t order. The $’s were rectified. Poor!!
We visited for a late brekky. It sort of looks the part and has the usual suspects on menu, but just doesn’t deliver. Smashed avocado had a very thin layer of avocado and was all fetta, – something you’d whip up quickly at home without the X factor you expect from a quality cafe. Coffee was okay. Nothing WOW, not terrible, more middle of the road. Lots of better places nearby!
Good food, friendly service? What else does one need. Had a chicken sandwich – in a delicious Turkish bread. Mmmm. And a delicious latte. All served with personal attention and a smile. Spotted a couple nearby having soup and a salad. They seemed pleased too. Pity I don’t live closer but will pop in whenever I am nearby…
Give it a go. Was in the area recently coming back from Cabrini with a itch in the stomach for a breakfast.
Sat down in the small but pleasant light filled eating area, Ordered hot chocolates which came with marshmallows
and was not too hot but I liked being able to drink it all now, breakfast came next, (bacon Benedict) probably the hottest and most luscious looking poached eggs I’ve had in sometime and I liked how the muffin was briefly toasted, Girlfriends avo toast was seasoned nicely but the let down was the quality of the bacon, later informed that is wasn’t cooked to order and its kinda forgivable due to the tight setup.
Not sure why it’s closed Sunday would have thought that day could be quite a money spinner.
Neighbourhood favourite. Fabulous St Ali’s Chompy coffee, always made to perfection by Kim. Friendly staff, clean, no fuss. The food is simple and good but I go for the wonderful coffee & a chance to sit in the sun & read the newspaper. It has a very different vibe during the week compared with busy Saturday mornings (BTW it’s not open on Sundays). At last count there were eight other places to get coffee at this corner (Wattletree/Burke Rds) – One Little Place is my favourite.
