Some delightful pizzas! We had a few coffees also to finish up our meals and they were fantastic. The food was damn good and attentive service. The deserts were pretty pricey though. I recommend booking as it was super busy for a Friday night!
Having recently been to Tipo, Kaprica, +39 and Gradi, I naturally have comparisons to make.
The pizza dough is fresh and hand shaped to order its impressive watching them work, its almost mesmerising as each hand movement is done with mindless purpose.
When it came out, the crust was hot, fresh and crispy, and the thin shaved prosciutto provided that bit of saltiness.
So the pizzas are pretty good, depending on the topping and flavours you prefer.
The pastas though feel a little old school.
The pene al calabrese was a simple pasta cooked in tomato sauce, olives, mince, onion, garlic and basil.
Its a very common flavour and has been around for decades. Decently cooked but Im not sure if its worth $27.90.
I came here when it first opened and the pizza was really nice and had no problems. Although I came here tonight with my family for Fathers Day & it was a different experience. We ordered a bunch of pizzas as well as some chips. The chips described as shoe string chips that were $9 came out with barely any chips on it (picture attached) & were thick chips. Yes thats how it came, we hadnt eaten any off this. When we asked about it, the staff didnt care & were not polite about it, not apologizing but saying they had changed the chips on the menu and that it just hadnt been updated yet. They gave us an extra bowl for free in the end and the pizza was good- but the experience at Gradi or DOC is certainly better
I would love to give 5 star for the garlic mozzarella focaccia pizza, but will only give 2 stars for the Rafaello dessert pizza. So I ordered a garlic mozzarella with focaccia dough based, it was fantastic. But the pizza dessert were so standard and nothing special about it, it mentioned in the menu that the Rafaello dessert pizza has Rafaello pralines and mint which werent there, not event a hint of flavour. What I can taste is just a pizza dough with nutella and strawberries which not like what I am expected. Also, the staff who took our order were not so friendly. But I would still say not so bad overall tho.
We went here before our movie, and we order a couple of pizzas. The pizza was absolutely delicious and while we were surrounded by some crazy kids we did enjoy the food!
We love to sit & watch them pump out all the pizza orders for a busy Saturday lunch crowd. The efficiency & precision is just amazing. We had calamari to start. Then we share a porcini mushroom pizza & a Napoli pizza. Nice variety.
Came here with a brunch of girlfriends and ordered some pizzas and pasta. The 4 cheese pizza was quite good, but pasta was not the best carbonara in Melbourne
