Bitter tasting coffee and the place was full of very loud tradies – what a great mood kill on a nice sunny day. Much better options in and around the area i guess.
$3.80 for a small ordinary takeaway coffee made from stale tasting beans and sub par machine! I guess working in the city we are used to specialty coffee but given the other cafes around here, this was a joke really. I don’t mind paying even 4 or 5 bones but at least the product quality is expected for that price. There were only tradies inside when i went and the washrooms were horrid.
Spotted a tall, dark and extremely handsome man who takes his daily walk down Glenferrie Road and decided to see where he gets his lunch. Honestly, I never normally do anything like this but I saw his slender frame dart into a hidden doorway and was instantly intrigued. A Thai-style cafe is definitely up my alley, as was he. I love a man who can take a little spice. He talks so much with his hands, it’s mesmerising.
Back to the food review, I tried the pad thai, which I always do to test the standards of any Thai restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. Very authentic and generous serving sizes, too. I loved that they added extra spice for me. I was sweating a little bit afterwards, and I swear it wasn’t just from staring at the dark-haired hunk eating his curry. I’ll definitely be back to try the other dishes. Especially now that I can haunt the sexy stranger’s secret haunts.
Stumbled across this sweet little cafe on my many walks down Glenferrie rd. To be fair, it’s almost a hidden doorway but I’m glad at this time that I popped in for a quick bite to eat.
Can’t say much for the coffee as I’m yet to try, however this little nook does have a grand offering of cost effective lunch options – bringing a hot blend of Thai favours to the Melbourne cafe scene.
Tried the Green curry beef with a side of roti which was a blast – enough spice to sort out my white boy tolerance
The place itself is cozy and nice, the staff are very friendly too. However, i just had the worst pad thai in my life. They obviously tried to make the dish look fancy by wrapping the noodle inside this egg, but the noodle was soaked in sauce. I had never seen a pad thai like that, other than if i cook it myself at home with a jar pad thai sauce. And it did indeed taste like the jar sauce. I was struggling to eat it. I can’t believe a restaurant can provide something that is very poor quality. I feel so sorry for myself who don’t usually eat out that often and was craving for pad thai.
Best Thai cuisine that I have had. Customer service and overall feel is exceptional. Do not knock it until you try it for yourself!
Cosy little cafe that offers everything you require.
I had one of the $10 lunch specials – the chicken massaman with roti bread. It was yum and great value. There is also no minimum spend to use eftpos.
