Total rip off. Serving customers seems like more of an effort than anything else. Microwaves pie? And a ten minute wait for take-away with no other waiting customers.
Id welcome any recommendations for a decent bakery that sells pies in Armadale /Malvern with out the attitude and absurd price.
First review got pulled for not enough characters.
A hidden gem located around Malvern, Lilette offers a range of delicate french pastries. I managed to find this place on my last day of work and couldnt pass up the sweet treats on offer.
Staying true to my name, I got the black forest cake($8) despite the slight eyebrow raise when ordering as it was 8am. The cake was well balanced with the chcolate sponge moist from the cherry sauce and cherries studded within the light whipped cream. The chocolate flakes covering the cake added texture but wasn’t too sweet. The serving size is quite small, especially when you consider the price tag, however I do think it was a well thought out size as it is just right, as a bit more may have become a bit too rich.
The interior isnt fancy but feels very cosy and cute with bits of feench decor hung about here and there. The lady whoe served me was very friendly and cheerful and even brought my cake to me!
Overall a great little cafe to drop by if you’re in the area, although it can be quite pricey.
Good coffee and great food. Staff are really nice. Coffee comes out quick. Food can come out a little slow but it’s worth the wait. Good atmosphere.
Outstanding in every way! Staff, food, lay-out. I come back week in and week out and will continue to do so as often as I can. Food is impeccable!
Unpretentious authentic French caf that serves simple but delicious sandwiches made from quality produce. At first glance, the menu doesn’t look like much and the ingredients seem too simple to be any good but boy, they absolutely work! Will definitely be back to try the baguettes next time.
Chef in this cafe is king and his wife Queen.
Simple French bakery delights with great coffee. Regulars greet each other and the whole environment has a friendly air of contentment with the world.
Those awful things we read in the daily newspapers are outside and foreign to this safe spot that offers yummy cooking with a smile. No gimmicks, no latest food fashion.
Omelettes, macaroons and gateaux =OMG.
This is a delightful little cafe with genuine baked goods from a French chef. It was an unexpected discovery which made it all the more enjoyable. My quiche was accompanied by a green salad with a subtle and delicious dressing – definitely not out of a jar. If you are in Glenferrie Road, do try it. Or even go there deliberately!
