I visited Remy Bar de Tapas in May this year and have been meaning to write a review ever since. I regularly walk past this restaurant and it is always bustling with people even on a weeknight. So after reading the menu and seeing the crowd I would say my expectations were high. However, after visiting Remys I was pretty disappointed. Although the food quality and taste was incredibly high the portion sizes considering the price was ridiculous. 3 tiny lamb cutlets for $22 and 3 very small stuffed zucchini flowers for $26 is totally overpriced. That topped off with $62 for seafood paella which hardly feeds two people. I was only moderately filled on exiting the premises I cant imagine how hungry an adult man would be. Service was lacking too. I understand it was busy but I was waiting 15 minutes to catch the attention of a waiter to get more water. Couldnt fault the chefs though.

I like the atmosphere of this place, it was rather romantic. Staff service is great. Tried some tapas and was pretty happy with them. Their stewed mushrooms dish was the best, loved the sauce! Croquettes and pork ribs were ok, cooked well. Seafood paella was rather a letdown for me. Not that i am expert when it comes to paella, but to me it was lacking of flavour. And when it costs $62 for it, then it becomes very disappointing. Churros were nice, i liked the dipping sauce. Their affogato was very strong. Overall, its a nice place to take your date for fancy dinner. It is very pricey place because we spent more than $50 pp and yet i was not really full. And tapas were great but the paella was not something I enjoy.
