I would go back to Rossini a million times and more for their tiramisu – those layers of coffee soaked sponge and that sugary deliciousness!!
So good!
We had the veal with mushrooms and lasagne bolognese for mains which did hit the spot – lasagne more than veal – but that tiramisu.. my oh my !
Good home cooked meals being served here
Mussels with wine as entree was good, slightly salty, bread that came with it was burnt – maybe this is the style? Vegetarian pizza average, it came in as a whole and we had to request it to be sliced. Not as good as expected in terms of food. Staff was friendly but service below standard. Thank you for serving us on Easter Monday evening anyway.
This is a lovely family-owned Italian restaurant down Glenferrie Road in Malvern.
I have been here several times over the years but have never sat down and written a proper review until now. Rossini’s Ristorante is a very classic, traditional home-style Italian restaurant. They specialize in pizza and pasta but can also do a variety of meat and seafood dishes.
Whilst dining in with a friend, we started with an entree of their delicious garlic bread which was well seasoned with just the right amount of salty butter, herbs and garlic. For our mains we chose the Fettuccine Ai Funghi and Ravioli Al Pesto. The serving size of both dishes were fantastic, so filling and delicious that ordering a dessert never crossed our minds.
The staff were by the looks of it a mixture of family and friends, and many of the diners appeared to be locals that knew the owner or frequented the place so often that they knew each other by name. It’s not hard to see why Rossini’s has so many happy customers. It is by far one of the busiest restaurants in Malvern with reservations definitely preferred.
It’s nice to experience the Italian culture and cuisine without having to travel all the way to Lygon Street in Carlton.
Authentic and friendly Italian restaurant on Glenferrie road. We all started with the bruschetta, really delicious! For mains I ordered the spaghetti with clams and zucchini, it was actually so good! Topped with rocket for a nice touch! The vanilla pannacotta was so creamy and the perfect end to a lovely dinner.
They have an autentic Italian Chef – very excellent traditional Italian food – if you live for Italian food, your in the right place for sure – cosy , a bit cramped and food gets served prontisimo. Ecellente.
This Italian restaurant appears to be run by an Italian family who are extremely welcoming and hospitable. The service and atmosphere are the real winners for me, as the food is good but not the best Italian I’ve ever had. The restaurant feels formal but casual at the same time, which is a great balance for me! A nice little restaurant with simple Italian food 🙂
Do not eat here anymore
The food was so bad and the service was poor
Last night we ordered veal bianco
What we got was either a reheated dish or just poor quality meat. We complained but nobody cared. Do not eat here at any cost. We will be reporting this place to the health department
