Newly opened in Highpoint, we decided to try out a favourite franchise of ours, Gami Chicken. Having been to several other Gami stores, we held high expectations with this one too, and they were only slightly unmet.

Service here is definitely better than other Gami’s- friendly, genuine and attentive, however they don’t offer that sauce with the prawn crackers!!! Let’s get down to business. A whole boneless chicken, sweet chilli and soy garlic complimented with potato heaven without cheese (Thank you lactose intolerance). The potato heaven was good, a nice taste with good chips and sauces. The boneless chicken was also good, notably the flavoured sauces surrounding the chicken. Although the meat itself was decent, we found some parts dry and not as succulent as other Gami stores we had been in. Nonetheless we thought it was a very satisfying meal. Good quality chicken and sides with outstanding service make it worth a visit.

Definitely a must try at Highpoint and for all fried chicken lovers!

The Gami outlet at Highpoint shopping mall is new and only first opened about 2 months ago. We decided to try Gami for dinner when we went to Highpoint for some late night shopping. It was an easy decision because it was the restaurant we saw when we stepped out of the car park and cold beer with Korean fried chickens sounds good on a hot 38c day! We walked in and got a table within 5 min. Service was prompt and on point. We love the decor of the restaurant, high ceiling, vibrant and bright. We ordered half original chicken with spicy sauce add on, japchae to share , pale ale and lager from the tap. The fried chicken was nice, crispy and not oily but the spicy sauce was too spicy for my liking. The japchae or potato noodles was nice just a tad too salty. Im not a fan of the coleslaw salad or the daikon pickle though. I prefer Nenes daikon pickle and fried chicken down the food court in the same building. Cold beer was refreshing and perfect for a hot day. Overall we had a good experience.

Finally tried Gami for the first time at their newest store in Highpoint. When it just opened, there was always a long line and it was always booked out, but the hype is slowly dying down now and we were able to get a table in 20min on a weekend at lunchtime.

For a group of 3, we got 1 whole fried chicken, tteokbokki with cheese, and their signature potato heaven. The tteokbokki had a nice variety of ingredients, including rice cakes and ramen. The sauce was pretty good and it was also quite spicy too. The fried chicken – original fried and soy garlic – was amazing. The chicken was super crispy and flavourful, and not dry. The sauce was delicious – especially the honey mustard that cake with the original flavour. But our favourite dish would have to be the Potato Heaven – it completely exceeded our expectations! Such a unique combination – who knew layers of potato on potato could taste that good? We expected it to be super heavy, but surprisingly it wasnt! Definitely a must try!

Staff were very nice and service was fast. The venue actually isnt that big (even though it looks like it) because theres a children play area on the bottom – so seating is quite limited. But I love the bright, colourful interior! Overall we had a very good experience at Gami, and its definitely one of the best KFC weve had.
