I ordered the large chicken karaage rice bowl with spicy mayo. It tastes good. It’s a decent size and certainly value for money. It’s quite spicy. I should have asked for less spicy mayo. It would have been better if there was more seaweed in the serve. I ran out of chicken, seaweed and salad to down the last few spoonful of rice.

My score 3.0 stars. J & I had lunch here today before braving the xmas crowds. Young woman who served us was nice. We ordered a Grilled tofu & mushroom bento, a Tempura fish bento & a Lemon iced tea (which was refreshing). Food took quite some time to be ready. Both bentos had: 1 Gyoza > ok but overcooked & wrapper a bit dry. Green salad/Coleslaw/Wakame salad/SMALL charred corn/Rice/Few pickles > All ok.
Tofu & mushroom (only) bento items: Veg croquette > underwhelming. Grilled tofu & mushroom > ok but lacked flavour intensity. Edamame > ok.
Tempura fish (only) bento items: Crumbed scallop > ok, prob needed some sauce. Yakitori chicken > small but tasty & quite nice (guilty non-seafood treat)! Tempura fish > 3 small pieces, quite nice, but more like F&C’s than tempura (& mayo was average). Afterwards we had a Black sesame soft serve in black waffle cone. It looked great & had a nice nutty/sesame flavour, but was a bit too sweet for us (Matcha better IMO). Overall, a bit of letdown & at $30 (+$2.50 for BS cone) didn’t seem great value (despite variety of items) – will try non-bento items next time when crowds return to normal…

Had the chicken katsu bento box which was pretty nice. It had pieces of chicken katsu, seaweed salad, fried scallop, charred corn, gyoza and skewered chicken on rice. Had a bit of everything which i really like.

Standard rice workshop – many franchises are around in Melbourne now. The karaage chicken was freshly fried, so it was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Other than that, there was just veggies and spicy mayo. A great combination altogether for a fast, simple and convenient meal.

Stopped by here during my work break, I got the beef and egg bowl and added extra chicken katsu on the side for $4. Overall the food is well worth the price as the portions are large and the quality and flavours are pretty good! A large with wings fed both me and my boyfriend so the high rating derives mostly from the good value for money! Overall i would stop by here for a quick japanese fix, oh and the service was excellent as well!
