My family ate here for the first time tonight and although I wanted to love this place due to the free kids meals (with a paying adult) and happy hour, unfortunately we were left disappointed. The service was great, it was the drinks and the quality of the food that let the place down. At first my son ordered a lemonade, however it tasted like soda water. The waiter said that the syrup had run out and that he’ll get some from out the back. My son (7 years old) had another sip and it still didn’t taste right. I then had a sip and realised that it was warm so that’s why it wasn’t nice. I asked for a glass of ice to cool it down instead. As for the food, I ordered the fish and chips and the fish was a real let down. Rather than the flakey texture of white meat fish that you would usually eat, it was a terrible piece (well 2 pieces) of Basa fish. I asked the waiter what it was because I’ve never eaten fish so terrible before. It wasn’t flaky at all like white fish should be, instead it was like a gooey undercooked texture. I couldn’t stomach the second piece and I’m not fussy with food. The chips were good however. As for my husbands hamburger, he usually loves any hamburger he tries in any restaurant (always claiming ‘it’s the best one ever’). However he said that it just didn’t taste right and didn’t enjoy it. I had a little bite of my sons burger patty and it just seemed flavourless, just like eating cooked mince with nothing much added for flavour. Sadly we won’t be back, hopefully the fish and burgers will improve though!Edit: I had bad stomach cramps 2 hours after eating the fish and an unusual headache. I didn’t think much of it until a little later when I had bad diarrhoea. I’m pretty sure the fish caused it because I didn’t eat anything else out of the ordinary.

I have been coming to the Bavarian for a few weeks now and the bar staff and management have been awesome! Especially vanish. They all are very welcoming and friendly and look after there regulars! With quick service and remembering orders! Thanks heaps! I came for the cheap beer! I’ll stay for the great service 🙂
