The service was lovely and friendly. The chicken had very thin and crispy skin. It was good. The hot sauce was nice, a bit spicy, acidic and sweet. I would prefer it to be a bit less salty though. I had to drink heaps of water afterwards. Anyway, I would come back.

3.5 stars. Wanting to try an alternative to our fav KFC, decided to give this place a go after reading reviews. There were 2 choices for chicken wings – soy garlic and chilli. Highlights: speedy service and the wings were pretty good. Lowlights: the batter just didnt taste as good as Gamis.

Order: Wingetts & Drumetts (hot and soy garlic), 2 Drumsticks and Sweet Potato Fries. Overall very nice crispy fried chicken and fries. Although slightly pricey but much more gourmet if compared to KFC. With the 15% student discount makes this cheaper than KFC which would be preferred any time. 4 Fingers had friendly staff and great service. Highly recommended!

A specialty chicken store, opposite the huge chain Hungry Jacks

    Ordered:
The Black Burger (hot): 4 Finger’s favourite burger made fresh with artisanal Asian charcoal buns ($12.00)
    Seaweed fries ($4.00)

    Review:
Apart from how sad and squished the burger looks, the chicken was deliciously deep fried yet still graciously moist in the middle. All signs of a good chicken burger.
The charcoal bun didn’t have any distinct flavouring, so please don’t be afraid to try it! Just a good chicken burger, but nothing that really stands out amongst the offerings of Melbourne city central.

Seaweed fries were a disappointment. It didn’t taste anything like seaweed. Rather, it felt like chunks of random nothings that were fun to chew on for a little bit but there was no value beyond that.

Service was great though! Friendly and helpful staff. They were happy to personally serve ice cold tap water upon request… but I’m unsure of how that would work in the busy lunch rush hour if a full restaurant needed tap water brought to their table.

We could just head back, I said as he slowly turned around. We were heading to another restaurant when we passed 4 Fingers. We had walked a few more metres but I could sense his hesitation – he wanted fried chicken, who doesnt? So we went to order at the counter and took a seat outside.

It didnt take long for our chicken to arrive. The sandwiches were deep fried baos, which was interesting. Overall, the menu looked enticing and the chicken was presented in a very appealing manner.

However, the chicken (we had the hot sauce) was sickeningly sweet. I wouldnt recommend if you dont like sweet fried chicken.

Who can say no to 4fingers fried chicken wings? Definitely I cannot. It is tender inside and crispy outside. The signature sweet chili sauce and chili soy sauce are amazingly good. After finishing a box of 6 pieces, I wanted to have another 6 pieces. Sweet potato chips are quite different from anyone else. The addition of a little bit salt gives it a extremely good flavor. Such a good place for chicken and chips!

We had visited 4 Fingers twice and heres what our experience was like!

4 fingers signature – we got the honey soy wingettes and drumettes. As you can imagine, this was finger licking good! The chicken was so juicy and the honey soy was such a good compliment to the chicken! Towards the end, it got a little bit too sweet and salty for me.

Chicken chop – a fresh chicken thigh crisped with soy garlic! Now this I enjoyed as the chicken was crisped well and I could taste the juiciness of it! Think of it as a bigger version of the wingettes and drumettes!

The black burger – similar to the chicken chop but in a burger form instead! Similar to what I described above, the chicken was tasty and went well with the burger! What made it stand out was that the burger bun had absorbed juices of the chicken making it less salty.

Overall, it was a good experience at 4 fingers and we would bring more friends along to have a fried chicken party!
