Ordered 6x beers during happy hour – when i went to pay girl behind counter charged us full price – when i questioned she feigned confusion – dodgy dodgy dodgy – be careful – I sure won’t be back
Cozy little restaurant hidden in one of Melbourne’s laneways. I only went there because my partner is Mauritian and I wanted to try their cuisine. I can’t say I disliked any if the dishes, but nothing was really outstanding for me. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall would be back!
The menu had plenty of options and staff were super attentive. I chose a couple of share dishes – including the beef brisket, prawns, taro balls and eggplant fritters. They were all generous in size and super tasty! The prawn and zucchini fritters are a must try – I’ll be back! Thank you
Really friendly staff and reasonable prices. Can’t wait until they get tap beer! Small and cozy, so get a table early. I’ll certainly come back – and it’s a perfect place for an afterwork catch-up with mates
For bar food, this place does go beyond your expectations: portion are reasonable for the price and definitely look out for their daily specials! #greatdeal!
Taro fritters:
This was recommended by the staff! She definitely know her thing. These little guys are amazing! The texture reminds me of lobster roll! So, it’s like vegetarian lobster roll ! Definitely worth the go if you are a big fan of taro like myself
Fried Octopus tentacles:
The promotion is huge for a side ! Definitely a good deal. It’s not too salty and goes well with the chilli mayo as it has a stronger kick of chilli compare to other places. The chewiness and the crisp. Well balanced
Mauritian fried noodle:
As a Malaysian, this reminds me mamak mee goreng. Taste was slightly bland, and noodles abit too dry. Didn’t like it as much until.. the staff gave me garlic chilli sauce- garlic and chilli infused vinegar or so. Added that, and voila, the dish was good. Nothing beyond extraordinary but it was good. For $9 (originally: $18) daily specials, it’s definitely value for the money as the portion could feed me two meals!
It’s tucked away in flinders ln, very very hidden, and very very cozy especially upstairs. If you go in a group, I recommend you head upstairs and have a little party for yourself, could fit about 10 pax. It will be like having a party at your own home !
Very good service, professional and efficient staff! Excellent food to enjoy in good ambience! Don’t forget to use Liven as it will give you a $50 bonus when you eat here! Will surely come back and recommend to my family and friends! Cheers 🙂
Wow! I was advised that there was a new chef with a new menu. Had a few friends come with me to try it out. Nothing short of amazing. We shared a few dishes and we found them all to be full of flavour and cooked to perfection. The chicken wings (my fav) are always juicy, the ribs fall off the bone beautifuly and the new parmasan aoli is something i need in ny fridge. Truely a hidden Melbourne gem
