Decided to try out this relatively new noodle shop for dinner the other day. The food was decent but not the best we’ve had for Lanzhou noodles. We has soup noodles but found the soup wasn’t as flavourful as other places. Portions are great however.

Over rated place. We got the noodles in soybean paste and the stir fried noodles. Noodles were too doughy and overly chewy. After 4 mouthful, it was quite sickening.

Bowltiful is a relatively new restaurant serving Lanzhou beef noodles as their signature dish. We were instructed to order at the counter first before sitting down, and although deciding which dish to order didn’t take too long (we had the Lanzhou beef noodles), choosing the thickness of the noodles proved to be difficult. There’s a dozen of choices varying on a spectrum of very thick to very thin. I settled for noodles that were more on the thinner side. The noodles arrived fairly quickly. I opted for no chilli in my noodles, but the broth was slightly tasteless so I added some chilli oil from the pot on my table. The noodles were nice and chewy, and the beef slices were abundant too. The price ($12.80) was reasonable considering the serving size and we were both satisfied by the end of our meal. Next time, we’ll be interested in trying out some of the side dishes to go with the noodles as well. There wasn’t much service involved- the only other service that happens apart from ordering is when the food arrives. Water is self serve at water stations situated in the middle of the restaurant. I would definitely recommend coming here for a quick Lanzhou beef noodles fix!

Will come back for:+ Beancurd and celery salad+ Braised lamb noodle soupCame here for a bit of noodle goodness for dinner. Ordered braised lamb and their authentic Lan Zhou noodle soup and preferred the braised lamb version. The lamb was super tender and the soup just had that bit more flavor. I also ordered the 2nd size noodles and would have preferred the thinner version. Will do that next time. Flavors of the soup was good, and servings were generous. We also liked the beancurd salad which was fresh and light. A generally good noodle place and will definitely be back to try this out again.
