Like most Korean Fried Chicken places around the CBD, the chicken here is deliciously juicy but a tad too sweet. Opting for the original chicken is a good choice if you dont prefer the sweetness. The Sweet Corn Cheese is also a bit too sweet but the Kimchi Fries were amazing.
Apart from the food, the atmosphere here is pretty hip while the service was very friendly.
Very friendly staff even though I went close to there closing time they served me with a smile. Had the spicy chicken which wasnt spicy enough but was served hot and had enough flavours. One of the better Korean fried chickens will definitely visit again . Recommended.
Cheap eats decent sized servings. Great for lunch time as service was super fast. Had the Gangjung. My only complaint with the dish is the coleslaw would have preferred not a creamy base. Both were nice just not together. Will definitely be back to try more dishes.
Good place for fried chicken and kimchi fries! Just thought that the overall taste is a bit sweet to me.. The place can be crowded around lunch time 12 – 12.30 but it gets better at 13.00 Wish they’re selling original fried chicken too!
Came for KFC, got a KFC experience. It’s got an undeground feel to it and is located in a laneway off Collins St. To keep things simple we got their combo for three which had a bit of everything. To satisfy our thirst a jug of soju mojito was in order, refreshing is the best word to describe it. Could have done with more soju but I’m not complaining.
First came the avocado spicy tuna, beautiful arrangement it was mostly creamy textures with the occassional fried garlic. Fresh.
The kimchi fries was piled with shredded chicken, onions, cheese and sour cream. I noticed I couldn’t see or taste kimchi, as in the fermented cabbage. I queried a waitress and she said there was kimchi in there. Nowhere in sight from what I shovelled in my mouth and I ate a lot of it! It was a core component in the dish missing, decent nonetheless.
We got also half a chicken original style, winner winner chicken dinner! This was the best item. Perfectly seasoned, absolutely juicy, crispy and meaty. Do yourself a favour and don’t ruin it with sauce.
Gang jung was a mixture of boneless fried chicken, potato wedges and rice cake. We chose soy as the sauce base for this dish which does dampen the crunchy texture of the chicken. It’s a good item to switch in and out of but I would guess you’d be sick of the saltiness/sweetness after awhile if you just ate that straight. The real star however were the rice cakes which had amazing texture, crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. Rice cake game changer.
Top spot for a cheap and tasty feed with friends.
