Hot pot done right!!! The soup broth was tasty to the core. The ingredients to cook with were quality in every respect. The noodles were handmade. The meat was of good cuts. Highly recommended for those who are able to handle spice.
Be warned…. slightly spicy was enough to make me choke. I had to water my slightly spicy soup base by 70% to make it tolerable. And I can handle spice. You can thank me later. 😉
This was my first time trying Hot Pot and I was blown away by the quality of the food and the presentation! Everything is fresh, the seafood especially and the meat is shaved so thin, in cooks in no time.
There’s a range of traditional dishes available and we were adventurous enough to try the tripe. But then the meats, seafood and dumplings are more common dishes that we enjoyed too. I found the spicy beef broth too intense so the seafood broth was much more to my liking.
Would definitely recommend David’s! It’s a fun group experience with so many dishes to choose from!
Huge crowd, extremely busy and they cram you in. Our group of 6 was crammed into a table for 4. That aside the food is delicious extremely spicy hot and there is even theatre when the noodles are extended and twirled into the hot pot. Plastic bibs arent really for me and overcrowding isnt my idea of a fun meal for 6, so wont be back. Its an experience though, just book for 2,4,8 for better tables. Staff excellent and helpful as possible.
Booked at 7pm session for group of 10, upon arrival, table wasnt ready so waited for 5 minutes outside. Our table was split in two tables with quite tight spot. Would have preferred their inner dining area with round tables so we could talk with everyone…
We ordered $40 per person worth of food incl the soup base. Note they charge for sauces per person… we werent aware of it until we got the bill. Nonetheless each hot pot restaurant does things differently.. the food was all very good! The tomato and ox tail soup base got stronger and more tangy – which is great! Loved it with hand made noodles then drinking the soup after.
Hot pot session finished at 8.45, their last order was at 8.30. So make sure you plan your time while cooking the food and chatting away! 🙂
Overall, expect it to be expensive if you go all out but hot pot is generally expensive. Disappointed with the service or splitting our group of 10. But the food was good!

Came with a group of friends for dinner and was impressed with the experience. The restaurant is a lovely, well-decorated, big space with a great atmosphere. The tables are spacious, great for groups, and the service was amazingly attentive and fast. Waiters were helpful and always checking on the table to make sure the soup wasnt running out and the temperature of the pot was appropriate etc. We ordered a great array of meat, vegetables and other dishes, and everything was so fresh! Especially liked their dipping sauce system. Unlike some places where they charge an absurd amount for a small spoon of one type of sauce, they have a DIY sauce buffet system where you pick and choose from different sauces and ingredients, make your own sauce and they simply charge $3pp! Overall, a very lovely and enjoyable experience and would definitely be back again! Only thing is that I found the seafood soup base we ordered quite heavy and greasy over time, so would love to try the mushroom base next!
Traditional, authentic Chinese Hot Pot. This was a new experience for us, having never tried Hot Pot before, however we were pleasantly surprised with the level of quality and the experience we had.
With a traditional fit out, filled and styled with colourful and decorative pieces from the Chinese culture, we were immediately immersed in the culture. We were helped by some friendly staff who introduced us to the process of Hot Pot and which dishes were popular and recommended which helped us thoroughly.
We had the Oxtail & tomato soup and the mushroom soup which were both amazing and perfect for our tastes!
Of the many dishes we tried, our favourite two were the wagyu beef and seafood which came out in amazing bowls and were presented amazingly. The seafood came out in a wooden boat which was both funny and awesome as we have never seen something like it. We also loved the Deep fried crispy pork belly which came out in foil and was lit on fire at the table which made for fun viewing.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and cannot wait to come back and try other dishes from the large menu!
