Rare to see ramen stores offering vego options.
Vego ramen in miso soup was below average. Tofu tasted quite chewy, not fresh. Soup looked and tasted really oily, probably too much butter in it.
The Vego okonomi balls took over 20 mins compared with the ramen which arrived after 5 mins from ordering. The balls were deep fried with mostly mashed potato with tiny pieces of cabbage. The accompanied mayo & soy sauce tasted weird, too salty.
Theres lots of tables inside and not too crowded like most of the ramen stores in the city.

It had been many months since we last visited Fukuryu. Sadly, it seems to have changed since then, but not for the better.
The signature tonkotsu ramen used to be rich and flavourful. This time, the broth lacked umami, and the flavour was flat. It seemed watery compared to what we had had in the past. The pork slices were tender and had a slightly smoky note, but weren’t enough to make up for the lack of deliciousness in the broth.
We also had the okonomiyaki balls, a sort of fusion between okonomiyaki and takoyaki. They were battered and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, as takoyaki usually are. Those were alright, but if one were to judge them based on their ramen (and they are mainly a ramen restaurant), we wouldn’t have returned if they had served us this ramen previously.
They also no longer have carbonated water on tap.

This place is a hidden gem! Located at a place that isn’t easy to find, plus you have to go upstairs too. The menu wasn’t very extensive, but enough to keep you coming back! The Chasyu meat was melt in your mouth and the broth was very flavourful.
