I love a good play on words so Good Ovening caught my eye. I got a beef bulgogi bowl takeaway. The beef was very tasty and flavorful. Nice balance of soy and sweet. Good ruffage. I’ve heard good things from friends who’ve dined in. I look forward to doing this next time.

I went with an ex-colleague to Goodovening after her recommendation that the chicken was very tasty. I’m all about yummy fried chicken.

    LOCATION
I never knew this place existed. I am most certain this place used to be a cafe, even the outdoor decor and also interior is very basic and cafe set up. Its not very noticeable as a Korean restaurant unfortunately. I could have easily walked past it without noticing.

    SERVICE
Friendly staff and quick to answer any questions.

    MENU/PRICE
I think the prices are quite reasonable. My ex-colleague and I ordered the lunch special healthy bowl and I selected brown rice with grilled chicken (no fried chicken option! Disappointed).

    VERDICT
I am only basing my opinion on the food I ordered. Please note that I have not tried anything else on the menu. I thought the food was very average and didnt have much flavour. Although it came in a very cute wooden tub, it was quite hard to eat out of. It was obvious there was way more rice, and the tomato and lettuce was more of a garnish rather than actual salad. There are way better other Korean food options for lunch time specials around the city.

This little korean place is a bit hard to find but it is definitely a hidden gem. We got invited in to try their food and we weren’t disappointed!

We had a glance at the menu and saw Chicken carbonara and my fat as* knew I have fell in love. It is basically a carbonara, but instead of pasta you get friend chicken and chips instead. There is also some dried chilli flakes on top, brought out the flavour of the whole thing. They also serve roasted chicken as well for those who are on diets.

I really liked the Korean fried chicken here and also the cheesy rice balls. The Korean fried chicken was juicy and tender and the skin was nice and crunchy. The flavours were delicious. The only let down was the customer service, a bit messy and the staff seemed really confused with our orders.

A nice, cosy korean eatery with indoor and outdoor seating. Service is prompt.

Ordered the half and half chicken in sweet and spicy/ soy garlic with a side of fries.

There was a complimentary snack that was savoury and dusted with sugar.

The chips are great. Crispy and dusted in thick seasoning with herbs. The chicken is average, chewy battered chicken but the sauce is well made and flavorsome.

Delicious fried chicken. Crispy on the inside, soft of the inside and tasty in flavour both in and out. This place gets it right and does well with all its sides and service too.

This place is a little hard to find but once you do you wont be disappointed. The interior is quite small and was decorated with unique and quirky display items. We started our meal with the fried chicken soy garlic flavour with a side of chips. We then got the cheese corn and a Korean army sausage stew to share with ramen . The fried chicken was one of the best Ive tried, the marinade was perfect and the chicken was juicy, crunchy and mouth watering. The cheese corn was sweet, stringy and had a good amount of cheese, we both loved this dish a lot. The army stew was one of my favourite stews Ive had, the soup had a lot of flavour and there was a lot of sausage and ingredients which is unlike a lot of other places I have gone to.

We are so glad to be able to visit such a hidden gem, will be returning soon

    Thanks for having us !
