*Overall score: 19/25 or ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️in 5 words: closest CKT version to Malaysia’s *caveat: I don’t profess to be a CKT expert. I honestly don’t miss CKT as much as other dishes but I’ve eaten a few versions of it in Melbourne and to me @luluckt produces one that is closest to home. We waited 40 minutes for our noodles as it was a very busy Friday night. Thankfully it was worth the wait and surpassed our expectations. the duck egg CKT had some wok hei (smell of the wok?) and the thin flat noodles were consistently delicious. Loved how fresh and huge the prawns were (there were 4 on our plate). Wished there were more pork sausages (Lap Cheong) and beansprouts for that added crunch. Delighted to find little bits of pork fats. To me, lulu has done really well in creating a Malaysian classic. There will always be naysayers which insist that it’s not as good as the ones in Penang / KL, but when you are 11,000km away from home, manage your expectations 😉 I’m thankful that I can walk to a good plate of CKT when I’m craving for it! Hope you guys will reopen somewhere soon! *Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Ambience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Presentation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Price: ⭐️⭐️⭐️Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Will come back for:+ Blood cockle Char Kway Teow This little shop sells one of the best tasting char kway teow in town. The dish is smokey, crunchy with the fried pig lard, and appropriately spicy. The noodles are served on a banana leaf which gives it that little bit of extra fragrance. There was also a generous amount of seafood served with the dish. My only complaint (if there is one) is that there could be more of it. Service took awhile though but definitely worth the wait. Price is also above average. Will definitely be back for more.

Probably the Best CKT you can get in Melbourne. The charred aroma (Wok Hei) is perfect and the taste is really as good as some lesser know CKT stalls in Malaysia. Good portion size but could do a bit more with a few extra slice of Chinese sausage. Staff at the counter is also very welcoming and friendly. BEST!
