I can’t believe after years of passing this place, it never caught my eye. Their food is so good!
Came with a party of three, ordering kimchi jeon, tteokbokki with extra cheese ($3) and chicken bulgogi. Their banchan wasn’t bad although the anchovies really freaked me out (I don’t eat those), but the kimchi and fish cake skins were yummy.
Extra cheese really uplifted the tteokbooki – was so delighted that there was an egg in it too. The flavours were super yum, nothing overly oily. Chicken bulgogi was a heap of onion and garnishes but plenty of chicken pieces. My favourite of the night was the kimchi jeon (pancake). Super crisp with a sharp sauce, and the colour was a bright orange, not pale and bland like other places. Prices were reasonable, I’d love to come back soon for my other favourite dishes.

Primarily I wanted to revisit Mook Ji Bar because I had fond memories of their crispy fried chicken. So we did just that, a plate of fried chicken without any of the sauces to maintain maximum crunch. They were indeed nice and crunchy wing pieces however they were underseasoned, a bit of salt goes a long way. Disappointed.

We also got a small portion of spicy seafood tofu soup, a favourite winter warmer. Tofu as always is silky smooth bathing in a spicy bubbly broth. Combine that with some rice to absorb that soup and it is fire! We also got tteokbokki pimped up with some melted cheese and huge fried mandu (dumplings) served on the side to maintain maximum crispness. Rice cakes are addictively chewy in the spicy sauce and the cheese just takes it to the next level.

It’s one of the more popular Korean eateries out there and offer a wide range of food items. For the most part it’s a safe bet especially during winter where they offer a variety of heartwarming soups.

    Amazing.

Just perfectly unapologetically, authentic, genuine Korean dishes. Where else would a restaurant boldly dish out beef intestines served two ways?

On a Friday night, our group of five were given a number to wait outside for twenty minutes for a table.

We ordered the spicy beef ribs, the soy garlic chicken wings & drumlettes and the army soup.

We should have ordered: beef bulgolgi, stirfried beef intestines, the chicken as above, a pancake and a soup. And Id certainly return soon to do so.

The first time I went here was 1 year ago. Was recommended by friends, at that time I was really enjoyed the kimchi soup, thought the best ever I had ever had in Melbourne. But I went there one week ago with my Korean friends for lunch, we ordered kimchi soup again, it was terrible. Seemed like the soup was made with tomato sauce. Also the beef bulgugi was not taste either. Disappointed…I dont think Ill come back anymore

I tried to visit here once before but there was a line . This time I came to have lunch . Price is reasonable, staff are good but restaurant is very busy and maybe suits teenage and university students. Food was average and I think it deserves 3.5 but it would be injustice to give 4 as other places in city have done better I reckon.

One of the best Korean places in the city. Flavours are very authentic and prices arent bad either. The only thing that I probably didnt like was their hotpot, but then thats probably because Im not used to Korean hotpot. Would highly recommend this place!

Best Korean in Melbourne. Venue isnt anything special but when the food is that good nothing else matters. Got a classic bibimbap and spicy fried chicken. Both were 10/10
