Mekong used to be my favourite place for pho, but the recent significant increase in price ($2-5) cannot justify its quality and service. Soup used to be unlimited top up but now will incur $2 extra.
A bowl of pho used to be $9-10, but now it is $14-16 since early 2018. No wonder it is less congested now. The soup has a lot of MSG (I get headache and numbness in the face every time I had the soup), but it is very tasty! Spent $18 today, for a bowl of chicken&beef pho, plus soup top up. It is no longer a cheap eat restaurant.

    **3.5 actually**
Lovely food, quick delivery, decent rates and the complimentary tea, is what I would say are the highlights of my experience.
What I didnt like is the cleanliness and the ambience. There was food littered around us, even on the chairs, which was slightly disappointing 🙁
Hope they will work on it.

The beef and meat balls pho noodle soup is yummy here. The broth is very flavourful and I like dipping the meat balls in the hoi sin sauce. The bean sprouts are really nice when dipped into the soup and eaten with the rice noodles. They are given as an extra side dish.

This is one of the first Pho restaurants to set up shop in Melbourne CBD more than 2 decades ago. It remains quite popular even with its recent price hike.
Be prepared to have your personal space invaded from all quarters as the tables and chairs are very close to each other. During peak times, you may have to sit with strangers as well – adds to the authentic Asian experience.
Their Pho remains unchanged all these years. Soft, silky rice noodles bathed in beef or chicken broth with a tinge of MSG. So if you can put up with the noisy stuffy environment, this place is a goer.

I had beef pho here once. The price was very reasonable for the big portion. The taste however is just very average, with a bit Chinese flavour. It seems like a Chinese version of Ph. If you like Vietnamese food with Chinese taste, this place should be perfect!

Wow absolutely delicious authentic pho. I had the beef special and the actual broth was so flavourful. The interior is outdated however the service was surprisingly fantastic. They made room for our pram! Will be back

Mekong famous of its pho. The place have many seatings and quite close to each other. I have the beef pho and chargrilled chicken pho. The portion is quite big because they give lots of rice noodle. Broth was ok but Im so thirsty when I finish my meal. Maybe they put lots of MSG in the broth. …. …
