I had the mushrooms and tofu pho and it was delicious. I love their silken tofu and choice of mushrooms in the pho. I found it tasted best with lots of lemon and some basil. I wish their service was a little faster but that wont stop me from going back.
If you want a break from the usual chaotic atmosphere of pho restaurants, I would highly recommend Pho Nom.
Pho Nom is my go-to place for quick and delicious pho – my usual order is the Pho Beef Saigon which includes brisket, beef slices and meat ball. The service is usually quite quick since you can receive your dish in about 5-7 minutes. It is a quick and cheap lunch option located at the bottom of Emporium.
Decent banh mi in the quieter lower level of Emporium. I got the $13.50 combo of banh mi + rice paper roll + iced tea. Would skip the rice paper roll next time as it’s 75% vermicelli and only one slice of meat + lettuce.
The banh mi was quite good with crunchy but soft roll. Fillings were a bit meh – too much hoisin to overpower the tastes. Also mostly carrot in the salad. Crispy pork belly was quite good but didn’t get many crisp bits and the meat was tough in parts.
Polite customer service.
Been here several times now.
One of my favourite takeaways in the Emporium.
Definitely one of the best Rice paper rolls in the CBD.
Lemongrass Chicken definitely a favourite
Food:
– Pho Bo Saigon: contains a variety of toppings. I enjoyed most of them except for the sliced rare beef. It was thinly sliced but somehow really chewy. The broth had very beefy flavour but I think it’s a bit lighter than other restaurants.
– Traditional pork + pate baguette: simple and classic baguette. Nothing too impressive or different compared to other restaurants for this one.
Price: I think the price for the baguette was good but kinda so-so with the noodle soup because I was a little disappointed at the chewy beef.
Service: I ordered takeaway and was pleasantly surprised at how neatly they packed the food.
We enjoy coming to this quiet, clean and spacious Vietnamese food outlet at the basement of the Emporium for their delicious choices. They serve nice big bowls of heartwarming pho but we decided to try something else on their menu today.
The grilled lemongrass chicken with spring rolls was presented well and tasted even better. Loved the crispy spring rolls and well seasoned chicken with just the right amount of char.
The Bun Cha Ca Hanoi Fish was well fried and served on a bed of fresh salad.
So while their pho is great, do consider trying their other offerings.
Dare I say it?……Pho Nom is pho-nomenal!
For a quick tasty and healthy meal I recommend this place. The lemongrass chicken bun is stock standard. Good portion size and price. My spring rolls was slightly burnt and dry however the chicken had good flavour which is why Im rating it 3.5 out of 5.
