It’s been a long time since I last left a restaurant feeling quite so ripped off. Ordered pho, which was certainly tasty, but the bowl came out half full and was by no means a full meal. Then asked for iced coffee – got a glass full of ice with about three mouthfuls of coffee in it. Even then, I wasn’t too worried, until I got to the counter and they insisted the price of the coffee was $6.00. Stupid me for not asking first, but as this was twice the cost of every other drink on the menu – for very little actual coffee – I felt like a fool. Avoid unless you enjoy paying for tiny portions and being price gouged at the till. Highly disappointing.
I’m a Nguyen so I know what’s what. The chicken coleslaw had juicy chicken thigh pieces, lots of fresh mint and purple and white slaw and raddish. The prawn springroll bun (vermicelli noodle salad) was large serving with ample spring rolls. Both only $12. Authentic, cheap and large servings with renovated interiors – what more can you ask for!
The pho is just like how my family make it at home. Really authentic Vietnamese food. We had the Pho Dac Biet and chicken spring rolls. My partner thinks the beef balls are the best he’s ever had. My new local go to Vietnamese joint.
