Great yum cha restaurant with a variety of dim sums. Came here for lunch with six people and we had a feast ranging from savouries to sweets.
Try their durian puff which is stuffed with durian meat. The seafood used in the dim sums were super fresh. Awesome meal.
The cart ladies were attentive and polite.
The services was let down by this tall skinny Asian dude in black attire – very rude and he single handedly brought down the customer service of this joint. He should not work here. (23rd Nov 2018 @ 12:45pm)
Overall ambience is just right, food good and the service is ok.
came here on a thursday afternoon and i had a pretty above average meal. the staffs werent entirely friendly and what really put me off was i witness a staff who didnt wash her hands after using the loo. that honestly made me sick.
One of the best places for yum cha / dim sum. Come during 12-2pm for the best options. One time I came after 2.45pm and there were barely any trolleys strolling around which wasnt a great experience. Definitely try the egg custard bao and the durian puff for the durian lovers out there
Poor customer service, staff at the entrance was so rude probably the worst place in Melbourne. This place was recommended from my friend but since I experience such a great welcoming theres no more.
pls AVOID 🙁
As it was our first time here, once we sat down the waitresses were already trying to get us to order many items on the menu without us trying to settle in.
However the front desk people were quite welcoming and gave a really good service.
The food was actually the highlight of this experience and I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu 🙂
Will come back for:
+ Siu Mai
+ Pork ribs and chicken feet combo
+ Pork pops on sugar cane
+ Durian Rolls
+ Salty Egg Buns
+ Black Swan duck rolls
One of my favourite spots in town for dim sum because they are constantly pushing the envelope and coming out with interesting but more importantly tasty dim sums. Dont get me wrong, the regular dim sums (sui mai, pork pop on sugar cane etc) are good. But then you also get good combos like the port ribs and chicken feet. As well as specials like the duck rolls which whilst it was a novelty (you may not get these everyday) were crunchy, and packed with duck mince and sesame seed which was delicious. The durian rolls and salty egg buns round out the meal nicely. Not the cheapest place, but for a bit of something special, worth the coin. Bookings essential especially on weekends.
Red bean piggy buns – really smooth red bean paste inside, really delicious! Ordered this during yum cha time. Secret Kitchen is one of my favourite yumcha places, they have unique dim sums.
Bird’s nest papaya pudding. $28.80 aud each. The pudding tasted like mango pudding, the papaya was ripe and sweet, whilst there was a generous amount of bird nest on top but there wasn’t much flavour in it. Served cold and was a refreshing dessert. Apparently bird nest is really good for women 🙂
